  1. Yet those in charge of the County Review Board want wage increases!

When will we see a significant reduction in people who work on or for the Review Board?

When will Althoff, Franks, Wheeler, Tryon, McSweeney, McConnaughay propose legislation to allow Township Assessor use of current sales averages instead of the ludicrous three year average?

It is this one item that causes MOST assessment appeals.

  2. With prices trending up, I’m not sure such a change would be helpful to taxpayers because we would lose the the two lower priced years in the three-year average.

  3. Couldn’t this read that another 7000 homeowners in McHenry County are appealing their assessment this year.

The number of new claims may be down but presumably they are different homes, actually increasing the % of homeowners who appeal.

By the way, how many were successful in reducing in 2012.
