What Huntley Residents Wanted Officials to Know – 5

The survey that the Village of Huntley took had pages of citizen comments. Taken as a whole, they give an intriguing picture of what people think. 62% of those who took the survey were from Sun City, so keep that in mind.

Would like to see stop signs installed on Countryview blvd. very few drivers adhere to the posted 35 mph speed limit. Cars, vans, semis , trucks andschoolbuses, waste management vehicles speed since there are no stop signsbetween Dahmer and Hemmer rds. Just had a serious accident on Sept 19th, 2013.
Need a portillo!
We need office buildings on Rt. 47 and not more restaurants, to many in the area are closing for lack of customers.
We have a great opportunity to expand our medical foot print, we have a good start there.
With the Rt. 47/90 4-way, Huntley is the gateway to business expansion, so let’s not sell our village short.
I-PASS or cash.

Wish there was NO TOLL to get on/off 47 from 90……….We waited TOO LONG for this interchange and now WE WILL GET CHARGED TO USE…. Will be using Randell like I do now!!!!!!!

Need a portillos and olive garden!! also a movie theater
Recycling in Sun City needs to have closed lid recycling bins. Such as they have throughout Huntley. It would be expensive at first for the bins but that could be recouped by picking up every two weeks with the larger enclosed lid containers!!!
There is too much recycling blowing over the neighborhoods on windy pick up days!!!
Would like to see property taxes in Sun City decrease, especially those allocated to the schools. Don’t mindsupporting the school system, but think we should pay a smaller percentage seeing that we have no childrenattending school.
We’re very happy we moved here from Schaumburg because of the rural atmosphere here. With the completion of the I-90 interchange, Huntley will ceetainly bloom. With this increase in business and trafic, care must be taken to control the type of growth we anticipate. Keep up the good work.
a dog park please or share the lake in the hills park without paying non residents fees.
Concerned about “along 47” development…afraid that is being done in a sloppy way of just adding disjointed strip malls versus looking at and evaluating the entire few miles that exist…we ALL will live for decades to come with the decisions and planning of today.
We enjoy living in Huntley, and hope the commercial strip on Rte47 is built up fairly soon. One concern there, though, is the amount of extra traffic it will generate-I don’t think we want another ‘Schaumburg’ or ‘Randall Road’at our front door.
Lights in Sun City are only on corners which is bad. Also install lights at 47 and Kreutser and Regency Parkway.
Need bike path along Kreutser to go along with new 47 sidewalk being developed.
People commented about sidewalks and bike paths on Huntley's community survey.

It would be great if the Village Board would use good judgment in which businesses they allow to open especially in the area along Rte.47/Sun City. Strip malls are a blight on the landscape, as well as fast food restaurants.4 Subways, a Taco Bell, numerous pizza places all close together is very poor planning; makes the area look cheap/trashy.
Attracting additional restaurants, especially a Mexican restaurant, is important to our family.
I love the E-mails I get about Huntley, and the alerts from the police department. I think we need something grander than the “downtown” section of Huntley. It’s too small for a town of this size. Huntley will only get bigger.
I like to be able to get paperless water bills online.
Let’s hope the economy keeps coming back so we attract enough rooftops to get some non fast food restaurants on 47.
Most importantly the snow and ice during the winter on Huntley Road between Randall Road and Haligus are dangerous during the winter. There are so many accidents and cars skidding off rhe road. Pls do better. The ponds along Haligus between Main St and Algonquin are disgusting. They need to be maintained much better than the way they are now.

More tomorrow.
