People filed to run for Republican Precinct Committeeman in 130 out of 212 precincts.
Almost 39% of the precincts in this, the only Chicago-area county to see Mitt Romney beat Barack Obama, have no one with enough interest in the GOP to get ten petition signatures and file them at the Courthouse.
The names of the townships appear first and then the number of the precinct in that township. Names and address of candidates are next. No name means no candidate.
People who want to try to ten people to write their names in for Precinct Committeeman can do so if they file a Declaration of Candidacy with the County Clerk before a deadline which I can’t remember right now.
