Monday, December 9 at 6:30 the Policy Committee of the McHenry County Board will discuss the following, among other topics:

  • Sustainability Policy
  • Creation of Concealed Carry Weapon Policy
  • Development of New Policy on Issuing Debt
  • Review Process for MCC Vendors

The debt issuance policy discussion was initiated by newly-elected Trustee Chris Jenner. When he was on the Cary District 26 School Board, he got a policy passed that said its Board would not issue bonds without voter approval. Cary’s Grade School Board just got its credit rating upgraded, despite that restriction.

The discussion on concealed carry might center on whether the college students and personnel would be safer with more or fewer armed people on campus.

In the NIU massacre, there was a retired Army sergeant. She was in the front row and, of course, unarmed.
Even though she was in supply, she had been trained in using firearms.

I believe she would have taken out the murderer, if she had been carrying a pistol

  1. Are Policy Committee meetings closed or open to the public.

As a student and homeowner (taxpayer)I would like to attend and comment (in favor).

If open, do you have a location (ie room number within the building.

In addition, I believe that MCC would be an ideal location for conceal carry education.
