Independent Sheriff’s Candidate Jim Harrison Has New Year’s Message

Independent candidate for Sheriff Jim Harrison has this message for McHenry County residents:

Dear McHenry County Residents,

At the start of each New Year, I am optimistic about the future. For 2014, my optimism is for the people of McHenry County and for their Sheriff’s Office.

For the first time in 16 years, McHenry County will see a new Sheriff.

The General Election on November 4, 2014 will offer McHenry County voters an opportunity to determine the direction of County law enforcement into the next generation.

I am optimistic because I have a plan that will restore, strengthen, and unify McHenry County law enforcement and provide a solid foundation for its future.

My independent campaign seeks to unite the citizens of McHenry County, to wrest control of the Sheriff’s Office from the clutches of countless political stakeholders and special interests, and to entrust control of the Sheriff’s Office in a professional lawman who will give first priority to the interests of the people and no priority to political interests.

As we move through 2014, the campaign will be ramping up its efforts to engage, inform, and unite voters in our common cause.

After all, in the end, there will be only one Sheriff and he must serve all of the citizens of McHenry County, regardless of political affiliation.

For the past few months, while the Republican candidates have been competing for their political party’s nomination in the upcoming March primary election, the independent “Jim Harrison for Sheriff” campaign has been preparing for the challenges that lie ahead — after the primary election is over.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my independent campaign in 2013.

Independent Sheriff’s Candidate Jim Harrison Has New Year’s Message — 14 Comments

  1. Jim Harrison: Spoken like a true democrat turned republican turned independent. He’s just fishing for where he could get the best play.

@Cindy: I’m pretty sure Prim already agreed to uphold the Constitution….just saying.

  2. If you look at Jim’s record you can see he has defended our Constitutional Rights and Freedoms hundreds of time and is a professor of Constitutional Law.

Bill Prim allowed subordinates to violate to wipe their noses on the Constitution.

Prim was The Right Man, at The Time to stop police abuse, but did not do The Right Thing.

    This not my opinion.

It is a matter of record.

  3. Just Joe – You have some bad info.

Bill Prim has given documentation that shows he had not part in the issues you speak of.

Editing the real info does not provide truthful information.

  4. The question that needs to be answered is, “Is Jim Harrison a real candidate or merely a very successful vehicle to take votes away from Prim?”

This has already worked as many of those who would have voted in the primary for Prim have been persuaded to stay home and vote for Harrison the independent in the fall.

I have not witnessed Harrison attacking Zinke but he constantly attacks Prim.

This, for me, is very telling.

  5. The world needs more observant people like Rich.

If Prim loses, Harrison will drop out of the race and get a cushy job in a Zinke administration.

The rumors already circling the building.

That is why Cundiff and others have jumped ship.

Harrison is looking for a job, any job.

  6. If you are tired of all the political agendas in the McHenry County sheriff’s office, then vote for Jim Harrison 2014.

He will actually do his job and restore order to the sheriff’s office.

I am voting for Jim because he will save the county money and not be controlled by party politics.

  7. Go get em Jim!

I’m glad that Bill Prim has agreed to debate you.

Maybe now he can answer for the police beating incidents and his actions that followed. Z

inke won’t even debate? What does that tell the voters?

It is clear to me that he doesn’t want to be put on the spot about his corruption with RITA Corp.
