Come about five o’clock Saturday afternoon, Richard Vanecko will have spent the first of sixty days for which he was sentenced.

Since the crime was committed in Cook County, the natural place to serve his time would have been Cook County Jail.

But, because of “security reasons,” his attorney asked that he be allowed to be incarcerated in McHenry County Jail.

The connection to McHenry County is Judge Maureen McIntyre, who was selected when all Cook County judges said they wanted no part of the case.

Drugs have been found in the McHenry County Jail.

Compared to Cook County Jail, McHenry County Jail is probably a country club.

  1. I call huge BS! He should be in Cook County! Period! We aren’t running a bed and breakfast out here for the privileged!

  2. Well Cindy, you have a Sheriff, that is homeless in McHenry County, where else would he get such a deal?
