Dillard responds to budget delay

LOMBARD, Ill. – Republican candidate for Governor Kirk Dillard today issued the following statement in response to Senate President Cullerton’s remarks about the state budget.

“Governor Quinn has the legal responsibility, as Governor, to submit a budget on time. He’s been Governor for five years.

“There’s no excuse.

“More important, his delay cuts in half the time that the public has to scrutinize his spending plan.

“This was pure politics.

  1. Relevant to the topic of state and county overspending is the Detroit bankruptcy deal pending.

Sounds like bond holders may get $.22 on the dollar, pensioners $.25 on the dollar.

Detroit was said to have the highest property tax rate as percentage of home value in USA in 2013., at 3%.
( National average property tax rate as a percentage of home value 2013 was around 1%).

(My tax rate in 2013 was 3.285% of home value. Seneca Township, McHenry County Illinois).

It mystifies me that Illinois teachers and public office holders believe there will be money to pay 100 cents on the dollar of their pensions in years to come.
