McHenry County GOP Executive Director Writes about Endorsement Letters — 13 Comments

  1. Pathetic.

Evidence that we really need NEW leadership.

The cronies are really loosing it.

They are scared to death of Prim and the only indicates to me that the all OWE some people and have things they need to keep hidden.

They are terribly frightened of transparency.

  2. I don’t see that this is any big deal.

Seems like everything in the letter is common sense which, granted, isn’t always so common.

    1. Nobody can force a precinct committeeman to endorse a candidate.

    2. If you’re running for precinct committeeman, you are NOT a precinct committeeman until after you’re elected. And you can’t act as one until you ARE one.

    3. The incumbent precinct committeeman is THE precinct committeeman until after the election.

Seems simple enough but apparently, judging from some comments, doing it the right way isn’t THEIR (the commenters, that is) way.

  3. Truthless, you are so full of sh*t.

The regime is just trying to save their ass.

They thought things would be business as usual, but they were wrong.

There is a new group of dedicated Republicans taking over.

You and all the good ole boys can pack up and take a hike.

    This is regime desperation.

  4. Mark,

I noticed the same thing – they must be reading Cal’s blog.

We have complained about this for how long?

And only now, when they realize they are going to be defeated, do they change.

This is nothing more than an intimidation stunt.

This new group of leaders are a lot of fun to watch.

  5. Are people really sending out letters claiming to hold an office they don’t yet hold?

Is that kind of like signing your name falsely claiming the passenger of a car was actually driving?

    And then be indignant?

  6. Has anyone received one of these letters yet from the people running for office or is this just another scare tactic by establishment Republicans who are now realizing they are about to be thrown out.

Geri you haven’t done a damn thing for any of the committeemen… well, unless you like them.

Your ridged rule with an iron fist over the party WILL end.

You do not need to be a precinct committeeman to work a precinct.

    Anyone can.

The problem with your committeemen Geri is that they don’t do a damn thing.

They sit at home and do… nothing.

  7. Thank you Cal for bringing all of this to print.

You are truly needed this election cycle for people to read what is actually going on in our county.

I have a few questions for Geri Davis.

    Where are our letters?

Aren’t you and Tryon planning on sending out letters for your write-in candidates?

Wasn’t that stated at your meeting yesterday at Liberty Storage?

Who is paying for these letters?

Is it coming out of the Mchenry County Republican fund?

If so, I would like you to send a letter for myself and all of the Precinct Committeeman.

Let’s include everyone, not just your hand picked write-ins or people that are being contested.

Secondly, what is wrong with a little competition?

Doesn’t that just make someone work harder to win?

I believe this letter you just sent out, which I did not receive, is another attempt to try and intimidate to keep people out of their races.

To try and dissuade new people from getting involved in our Republican Party.

Yes, I said OUR Republican party.

It is not owned by anyone.

You act as though you own the Mchenry County Republicans.

I have yet to have Tryon hold a meeting to help my out in my precinct.

But he is willing to spend time to help out write-in’s?

How about the people that go through the proper channels and file their paperwork to get their names on the ballots by the deadlines.

Isn’t that the reason why you didn’t want Tonya Franklin to run against Jack Franks?

You are full of hypocrisy Geri Davis and Mike Tryon.

  8. Well put Lori!

This is just another intimidation tactic used by Geri Davis, et al.

This letter strongly suggests that people are being intimidated by the new group of reformers.

I haven’t seen anything of this nature.

I attended the meeting at the VFW.

I don’t recall anyone saying that precinct committeemen candidates were required to send a letter.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the most the old guard has worked in a long time!

Too bad they didn’t use this energy to grow the party.

I have personally heard from many candidates for office how useless the republican party is here in McHenry County.

    It is just embarrassing!

  9. That paragraph is more hilarious by the hour:

If you feel you are being harassed to sign anything you are not comfortable with, please feel free to call our office for advice or direction. You can also call the State Board of Elections or the Attorney General’s office.

Que up the fat lady singing.

Sorry Geri but nobody is being harassed and no one is going to jail as far as I can tell.

There are simply so many pissed off conservatives in the county that they decided to come together as a team and stand up against you and your machine.

Mike, Mark, and you did a horrible job of recruiting new committeemen.

Mike, Mark, and you did a horrible job of building the Republican Party.

Mike, Mark, and you have been asleep at the wheel while the party has augured into the ground.

They are simply sick of your… fecal matter.
