A press release from Congressman Randy Hultgren:
Hultgren: Administration Admits Obamacare Will Increase Premiums for 11 Million
Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren (IL-14) released a statement today after the non-partisan Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a report stating that two-thirds of small businesses will see an increase in healthcare premiums under the President’s health care law.
“The report from CMS, the federal administrator for Medicare and Medicaid, explains it succinctly:
‘premium rates for roughly 11 million people will increase,’
contrary to the President’s promise they would decrease under his healthcare law.
“A worker with a nine-to-five job will be hurt hardest as an estimated two-thirds of American small businesses will see their healthcare premiums go up.
“House Republicans have proposed several alternatives that maintain some positive provisions of the President’s law, but will lower costs and protect health choices for middle class Americans.
“We must act to pursue real reform of healthcare.”
