The Northwest Herald rolled out endorsements for two McHenry County Board districts this morning.
In District 1, challengers Andrew Gasser and David Stieper were selected over incumbent Robert Nowak.
Time will tell if their promise not to take health insurance and pension fringe benefits will find favor with the public. It is predictable that their stands will not be appreciated by incumbents, some of whom get as much or more compensation from those fringe benefits than from their $21,000 salaries.
District 3’s choices were incumbent Joe Gottemoller and Nancy Gonsiorek.
Both have elected service, but so does former Nunda Township Road Commissioner Don Kopsel. The fourth candidate is former Assistant State’s Attorney Sarah Jansen.
Andrew Gasser and David Stieper will bring a very different perspective to the McHenry County Board.
Its going to be interesting to see how the dynamics play out.
I know Andrew and David are walking. People should reach out to them to get to know them… and take a yard sign if they have any.
Both Andrew Gasser and David Stieper will be an asset to the County Board.
Two household votes here for Gasser.
I’ve met him and he’s either a real stand up guy or great at not “smelling bad” like most politicians/connected officials.
Give him the chance to prove himself.
I’ve met a LOT worse people out here with lesser resumes.
Term limits s/b applied to school boards and the county board.
Too much clout and one-sided thinking/power rests in the hands of long term elected officials and their groupies.
Andrew is great for the county board and for McHenry County!
We need more good conservative leaders like him!
Andrew Gasser is an excellent candidate who will make a difference on the County board.
