This morning I received a call from former Governor Jim Edgar.
He made a pitch for his former Chief of Staff Kirk Dillard.
Edgar said that Dillard “understood how to get spending under control.”
Edgar, however, wasn’t the only one making calls on Dillard’s behalf.
A Friend of McHenry County Blog sent the following:
I just wanted to let you know that I received a robocall about 25 minutes ago [about 10 AM] from the Illinois Education Association encouraging Democrats to vote for Kirk Dillard in the Republican Primary.
I don’t know if you have heard that yet but thought you might find it interesting.
The number is 708-297-7569 which I’m reading is from Blue Island, IL.
Dillard is just more of the same that got us in this mess.
The IEA and unions would just pit him vs Quinn and endorse the one that gave them the most goodies.
Rauner is the only hope to enact some reforms in unions and their pensions and benefits.
And no that’s not an attack on public sector employees.
Rather the General Assembly has passed so many laws benefiting unions it’s become unsustainable.
