The Bill Prim Mailing That Didn’t Make It

It’s pretty obvious that the Bill Prim for Sheriff campaign had problems with its mailings.

The first one, which should have arrived about the time early voting started, but didn’t arrive in my mailbox.

The second one never arrived.

You can read it below.

The headline on the address side is

“The citizens of McHenry County deserve a Sheriff they can trust.”

The address side of Bill Prim's lost mailing continues the use of him walking his dog in the snow. Who could have know how appropriate that image would be.

The address side of Bill Prim’s lost mailing continues the use of him walking his dog in the snow. Who could have know how appropriate that image would be.

The back of the mailing is a comparison between Bill Prim and his opponent Andy Zinke.

There is a comparison on the back of the direct mail piece that didn't arrive before election day.

There is a comparison on the back of the direct mail piece that didn’t arrive before election day.

Under “accountability,” Prim says, “Public officials are accountable to the citizens. There will be a free flow of vital information to the people of McHenry County in a Prim administration.”

Under Zinke’s photo one can read, “Public official accountable only to themselves. Zinke could immediately end the court battle over release of an internal investigation into his own conduct, but refuses to do so.”

The next area of comparison “Fighting Illegal Drugs.”

Prim says, “Awarded the U.S. Department of Justice Organized Crime Drug Task Force Public Award, among numerous awards and commendations, for work against major criminal drug organizations.”

Zinke is credited with “Tipped off a campaign donor that the DEA was tracking a major shipment of marijuana to the man’s business.”

Prim’s views on the budget: “Bill Prim has announced his plan to cut unnecessary top-level administrators. And that is just for starters.”

And Zinke has this written under his photo: “He has been part of an administration under which the Sheriff’s Office budget exploded more than 35%, from $24.5 million at the end of 2007 to $33.1 million at the end of 2013. Most other county departments stayed the same or even decreased.”

“Fighting other county officials” is the next item of comparison.

“The Sheriff’s Office needs to work with and along side other county departments. No good has come out of all the intra-county friction and it has cost the county millions. It needs to stop.”

That’s what Bill Prim says.

And about Andy Zinke?

“Solidly entrenched with the Administration that fought the State’s Attorney and others. Can be counted on to continue the quarrels and spats that have cost the county millions of dollars.”

The final area of comparison concerns “Corruption.”

Prim states,

“The reputation of the Sheriff’s office is suffering from battles with other office holders, expensive legal wrangling with former employees, and continuing to pay a Sergeant while he was in custody for charges related to child predatory sexual acts.

“Bill Prim will create an office of Internal Affairs that will be professional, impartial and create confidence among the public and the rank and file officers both. Internal Affairs is a critical function for all law enforcement organizations. Bill Prim thinks it’s time the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office had one.”

Under Zinke’s side of the page is the following:

“More of the same taxpayer-financed nonsense.”

  1. To the second point about drug smuggling; A few questions: Do Prim supporters HONESTLY believe that drug smugglers would literally write where the drugs were going on a trucking manifest?

Do Prim supporters realize that Rita Corp hired a mexican company who then subcontracted the trucking out to ANOTHER mexican company, who was found in Texas with the drugs?

Do Prim supporters finally realize that their guy in the States Attorney’s office found NO wrongdoing of Andy and NEVER filed charges?

The 35% increase in the budget was due to a new regulation that was largely used for officers to take time off to be with their families.

It’s STUNNING Prim would be against officers taking time off to be with their family!

This was also answered the in the debate and it’s ludicrous this lie is still perpetuated.

To the third point about “fighting other county officials”, I would love to see what figures Prim uses in order to justify the statement that “quarreling” has led to the loss of MILLIONS of dollars to the taxpayer.

That sound like a load of ox dung.

Finally, Andy has a better working relationship with most local surrounding sheriff’s, except one who is giving Prim a part time security job, and Andy actually knows all the local cheifs, who said Prim never even made attempts to contact them before or during his campaign.

He also has more endorsements from local state reps/county board members and mayors.

God probably had a hand in making sure this never saw the light of day. This mailing was the devil’s work.

  2. Wonder when the mailers were dropped off at the post office.

The only mailer Prim needed was the picture of Zinke flipping off the taxpayers.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

  3. What next, Zinke hijacked a Postal Truck?

Cal, I know the countdown has begun.

Are you typing up some nasty story about how the election was stolen,or how those dirty, nasty Zinke supporters partied on taxpayer dollars while crime was running rampant.

Since we know you were always in bed with Prim.

Please give him a kiss good night when you tuck him in.

  4. Whether the Rita Corp was involved in the drug trafficking or not, Andy was wrong to tip off a potential suspect even if he is a close personal friend of his.

When the Correctional Officer tipped off a potential suspect in a much smaller case he was fired by Sheriff Nygren.

With Andy it was, “Ahhh, it’s ok, I’m gonna endorse you for Sheriff!”

The fiscal irresponsibility and waste at the Sheriff’s Dept is almost mind-boggling.

If the taxpayers of the County ever find out the truth they will storm the Government Center with pitchforks!

If you want to speak of Andy as a person, you only have to look at the pic of him flipping of Cal, read his account of him being terrified by a woman dressed in black causing him to illegally run her license plate in LEADS and listen to his everyday paranoia.

Hardly a good candidate for Sheriff.

  5. Rich. Where do you get that Mr. Goode was a “potential suspect”?

The federal DEA deemed Mr. Goode an innocent bystander and witness.

So, Andrew Zinke sought cooperation from a witness.

    Some scandal.

But, the truth is not convenient to the Regime RINO narrative.

  6. By the definition used by the Sheriff to fire the jailer who tipped off the business owner, Mr Goode was a potential suspect as it was his business.

Maybe Andy should find the jailer and give him his job back.

Ok, that won’t happen as that would be the honorable thing to do.

  7. Rich, how many layers of managers, supervisors and leaders do you suppose there are between Mr. Goode and his transportation division?

Think this x2 subcontracted transport-driver reported directly to Mr. Goode?

If so, then your business understanding + Prim’s budget understanding = one huge mess.

All this nonsense makes great fodder for the tin-foil hat crowd and conspiracy junkies, but just plain doesn’t hold up.

  8. “The 35% increase in the budget was due to a new regulation that was largely used for officers to take time off to be with their families.”
    T
he McHenry County Sheriff annual budget was increased $9M ($24.5M to $33.1M)in 6 years so officers can take more time off to be with their families?

What is the name of that regulation?

Who created the regulation, the Federal Government, the Illinois General Assembly, some other entity?

  9. Let’s allow a modicum of common sense –

When a federal agency is investigating the possible movement of illegal drugs to a business then there are many potential suspects.

Then… if an officer of another law enforcement agency tells the owner of the business who just happens to be his friend about the federal investigation, he is tipping off a potential suspect.

  10. You Zinke people know NOTHING

So what are you going to be doing tonight?

I know crying in your beer.

The Prim Supporters are ready to PAR TEEEEEEEEEE.

    Can’t wait unti

  11. The fact are clear:

Zinke was never charged concerning Rita un-involvement of drug running by the FBI, DEA, CIA, or LOU Bianchi.

Brian Goode was an innocent bystander.

And finally, Prim is a double dipper who is also posturing by throwing as much shit at the wall and hoping some of it sticks.

God prevented this mailer from being sent out.

  12. So tired off the same old tap dancing above.

    Really a good mailer.

Too bad nobody had seen it until just now.

  13. On the off chance that Prim wins, the only lesson to anyone looking to run in McHenry going forward is if you want to win, you need to run a negative campaign filled with lies and innuendo.

Run as an honest, ethical person while smearing your opponent with malicious conspiracy theories and employ crazy blogger to run wild stories that will ruin your opponents good name, attacking his family… no holds barred.

Shameful, and all involved should be ashamed.

  14. You know, Cindy, the funny thing is that, time and time again, I disprove your posts. And time and time again, instead of coming back with any factual data/article/anything to support your claims, you come back with ad hominem attacks.

Where were your facts when you claimed a few days ago that the letter Nygren sent out was on county letterhead? (You were lying)

Where are you facts to dispute my well argued post above that all of the claims made against in this mailer against Andy are complete BS? (You make some sing songy, tap dance statement that’s churlish)

Prim supporters have made up claims about law suits, drug running, conspiracy, and, when it is all said and done, do not file ethics claims – or if they do, they get shot down/fined.

They know that voters will see that once the veil of malicious bloggers, frivolous lawsuits and shills is lifted, all that is left is a candidate that has worked hard for over 25 years in his hometown department and now wants to do good by being the leader of it.

That’s the narrative, nothing more, nothing less.

  15. Remember the picture of Zinke flipping off the blogger while Zinke was driving his police vehicle in his police uniform in the middle of the Independence Day Parade on July 7th, 2014.

Zinke described the incident as follows.

‘”Other than to acknowledge I was apparently holding the roof of my vehicle with my middle finger instead of all my fingers, there isn’t much more to say,” Zinke wrote.’

    You can view the pictures.

You decide if he’s holding the roof of his vehicle with his middle finger or flipping off the taxpayer.

    First no finger.

    Then finger.

    No finger before passing blogger.

    Finger when passing blogger.

  16. Time for you Zinke supporters to give it up.

Anton ,no, it was the Zinke lies and negativity and Zinke’s lack of experience that will bring him down.

Frank, I have the $ 5,000.00 you keep talking about.
    and finally teacher:
You have NEVER known what you have been talking about

  17. Frank?

I made no ad hominem attacks.

You must not understand the English language.

I got a letter and it was copied from the sheriff’s stationary.

You are the one calling me a liar just because you are uncomfortable with my doldrum threshold.

Why are you so stubbornly ignorant?

It’s a comments section. I have no facts to prove to anyone. Why don’t you go dig up the facts you seek instead of haranguing me?

I find your condescending attitude beneath the dignity of a patient response. God bless those others that do try.

  18. Cindy,

Many here have a vested interest in the outcome of this election and are terrified the status quo will change.

Some just attack with venom as they don’t want to see.

Don’t take it personally, consider the source and have a great night regardless of the outcome

  19. Well, Cindy…

Cindy on 03/15/2014 at 1:09 pm said:

I don’t understand how this is proper when it is on county stationary using taxpayer money to mail.

Isn’t that going against all rules of integrity?

Is this what we pay a sheriff to do?

Even though it was clearly printed on the letter shown here in the blog as well as the copy that I received in the mail… “(not printed or mailed at taxpayer expense) Paid for by Committee to Elect Andrew Zinke for Sheriff”

    And now you tell us…

Cindy on 03/18/2014 at 6:27 pm said:

You’re correct, Cindy… whatever facts that exist you choose to ignore. You have NO facts to support your position with regard to the Nygren letter. You insult others by telling them that black is white and white is black. You call others ignorant yet continue your rant with the facts disproving your rant staring you (and everyone else) right in the face.

So it begs the question: Are you stubbornly ignorant, a liar, or both? Or may I be charitable and just let you down easy and say you are a drooling idiot? (based upon your actions and the facts, many might feel that this is NOT an ad hominum attack)

  20. Thank you, Rich.

May God richly bless you and your endeavors, also.
