There is a comparison on the back of the direct mail piece that didn’t arrive before election day.

In our tracking of the Bill Prim for Sheriff comparison piece, readers have informed McHenry County Blog that Harvard mailboxes received it Saturday, four days after the election.

Some people in Crystal Lake received it, too.

I’m still waiting.

Let me know when you receive it, please.

Prim Comparison Piece Arrives in Harvard and Some of Crystal Lake Saturday — 15 Comments

  1. Received it in Crystal Lake today.

Probably would have garnered more votes for Prim.

  2. Did anyone receive the piece before the election?

Candidates for office need to realize that due to early voting, the deadline for the receipt of major campaign material is the day early voting starts.

  3. Numbers guy – the mail houses messed it up.

They were all ordered to be there early enough.

They did not get the job done.

Prim was not the only person that had the problem.

Other local candidates and some in Lake County.

  4. Seeing that Andy had a huge advantage with name recognition thanks mainly to the Northworst Herald, this screw-up cost Prim many votes.

  5. So even without the mailings coming in on time for the election, the citizens of McHenry County spoke out and voted Zinke and Nygren out of town !.

If these were delivered on time, I think it would have been a land slide win for Mr Prim.

  6. Let’s see how much exposure the NWH gives Andy after the primary.

Prior to the election he was in the Herald at least a couple of times a week.

  7. If your mail firm can’t get mail out before election day, you’re using the wrong mail firm.

I mentioned this in another comment that disappeared for some reason, but I also got a Provenzano piece on Wednesday, after the election.

It really isn’t difficult to get mail out on time.

  8. Lateness rules!

Received a mailer for Jeff Thorsen long after the fact.

Hopefully, the candidates will not have to pay for others incompetence… even as the voters pay and pay and pay and pay for the incompetence of some elected officeholders.

  9. This sounds like an intetesting story that our local newspaper should report on.

Of course, I am pretty sure theyd have to get permission from the big fella first.

  10. We received it yesterday (Saturday) in Cary, actually 2 of then addressed to different family members.

Why send 2 to the same address?

  11. Dave – Other mailing firms had problems.

Got a McClellen piece after the elections.

The problem exits with more than one company.

  12. I also think it would have been a landslide for Prim but the citizens of
McHenry County knew a good man when they saw it and voted for Bill Prim.

  13. Good Work Postal Drones!

Prim and Thornsen ought to get refunds!

Same thing pulled in many other McHenry Co. races of yore ……… like Verdung, Veer and Sanders races …… it’s an old trick ….and the perpetrators ought to go to jail.

  14. **We received it yesterday (Saturday) in Cary, actually 2 of then addressed to different family members.**

Any mailing firm that sends two of the same piece, addressed to different family members, is also the wrong firm to be using.
