Tryon Pens Central Committee Replacement Recommendations — 13 Comments

  1. Too much power in the hands of too few?

    Really Mr. Tryon?

This new movement has recruited and empowered more committeemen to grow the party.

Under your leadership many people were turned away after being asked to be appointed committeemen.

If you aren’t personal friends with Geri Davis and Mark Daniel, you haven’t mattered in this party.

    This has to end!

Vote Salgado for Chaiman, Gasser for Vice-Chair, Chuck Wheeler for Treasurer, and Diane Evertsen for Secretary!

  2. Could Tryon be any more ridiculous!!!

This slate is nothing the same establishment merry go round that has had all the power.

All the Al Jourdan people that do not think for themselves.

People who did not even bother to get 10 signatures in order to run for precinct committeeman.

Jung who got in trouble with the Attorney General for being involved with an illegal meeting.

Where is the inclusiveness with your people, Mike?

Glenda Miller who has been at it for years and now will control the treasurer’s office.

These people could not be more “family” if they were blood relatives.

  3. FYI- I am in a neighborhood where Tryon sent a letter supporting someone for precinct committeeman who has NEVER gone to a meeting and had Obama signs in her yard.

This from the Republican Chair of McHenry County.

We damn well better get some new people in.

  4. One has to love the spin Mr. Tryon always seems to place on issues.

I also received a letter from Mark Daniels asking for his support.
I found it of interest that his letter states, and I quote:

“I also recognize the need to make PROGRESSIVE CHANGES in response to the evolving nature of the county and it’s electorate.”

This may well be the most truth we’ve heard from this slate, yet!

Mr. Tryon and his associates in the current executive board , along whith Barb Wheeler and Pam Althoff have been very effective Progressives as far as I can see.

Lord knows Jack Franks and Mike Madigan respect and appreciate the heck out of them…

But none have actually admitted to their Progressive agenda, until now…

  5. Mr. Tryon, your words do not reflect your actions.

    Inclusive?

    Not by a long shot.

You did not welcome first-time candidates to the Committeeman races.

You did not acknowledge my candidacy until I commented on this blog, and then it was an email castigating me for my comment.

The letter sent by you today is the first I have heard from you since the nasty email.

A true leader in the Party in McHenry County would have sent a congratulatory note to the winners, inviting all to the table.

    That would be inclusive.

You choose instead to label anyone not agreeing with you as “divisive”.

Your lack of effective leadership has allowed others no way to participate.

You are responsible for the decline of the Republican Party in McHenry County, Mr. Tryon.

To suggest that your “team” should stay in place as they are the “inclusive” ones is disingenuous.

Others will have the opportunity to fail, but if they learn from your mistakes, there might just be hope for the GOP in McHenry County.

  6. Tryon has only offered training and campaign signs to ‘his’ write in candidates, not to all the newcomers.

Who paid for the signs and letters Tryon sent out to get ‘his’ candidates elected?

Tryon and Geri Davis has done nothing to help the Republican Party in McHenry County.

They have actually turned away newcomers in the past.

He is comfortable doing what he has always done to win elections.

Which is obviously a back room deal with Franks.

  7. Tryon is nothing more than a sociably acceptable person to head the Republican Party . . .

I do believe he was used and I think he figured that out.

The person to talk to would be John, Geri Davis’s husband.

    He knows McHenry County history.

  8. John L, Geri’s husband, sorry did not mean to bring you into this.

But at one time you were a teacher and did not like baby-sitting, but I have to say you were a pretty good reporter, when you were allowed to write the truth.

So step up to the plate and educate McHenry County/

  9. Isn’t it obvious now, more than ever it’s time for OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW?

All of them. Take note: all endorsed Zinke when in the past Tryon & Geri told me “we don’t endorse in the primary”.

    Right.

I still want to know why 2 old guys & has beens are dictating to these people on what to say, do & who is acceptable for the party in our county?

  11. Re: Endorsing candidates in the primary.

Tryon is taking lessons from the tyrants in D.C.

IGNORE THE RULES This applies to both parties in D.C.

Boehner could care less what is stated in the Republican party platform and the other party runs roughshod over the Constitution on a daily basis while standing by as one of their Ambassadors is brutally murdered in Libya!

Not saying Tryon is as bad as the D.C. tyrants but he certainly has not done a very good job as Chairman and appears to not have read the bylaws or he does not care.

The McHenry County GOP party bylaws state that there shall be no slate and candidates are not to be endorsed in the primary.

From the bylaws: “It is in the best interest of the COMMITTEE that those serving on the Executive Committee, as a body, and members thereof, individually be discouraged from publicly endorsing any candidate for nomination in a Republican primary election where such nomination is being contested.”

“Each officer will be elected individually; no slate of officers will be permitted. “

  12. Tryon’s really tryin’ to snow everbody … once again ……

Who paid for these little mailings …that’s what I’d like to know!
