Mark Stern Sends Letter to Precinct Committeemen

Of the six candidates for 6h Congressional District Republican State Central Committeeman two have now sent letters.  To the best of my knowledge, they are the two youngest.

The candidates contesting for the State Party post follow:

  • Brian Colgan, Naperville
  • Aaron Del Mar, Palatine
  • David Diersen, Wheaton
  • Lynda Filipello, Lisle
  • Richard “Dick” Furstenau, Naperville
  • Mark Stern, Oak Brook

Both Brian Colgan and Mark Stern have now sent letters to the people who will be doing the voting next Wednesday night.

Both have also made personal phone calls.

Stern’s letter is below:

Mark Stern Sends Letter to Precinct Committeemen — 10 Comments

  1. Isn’t it refreshing to have choices in McHenry County?

No more candidates who are predetermined and selected.

Bob Cook will also make a great state central committeeman in the 14th.

  2. Defacto, Bob Cook is an excellent choice.

    He’s the real deal.

Better to have someone not paid to do the bidding of evil deeds.

Tired of these hand picked RINOs we have to hold our nose to vote for — or not vote for.

I refuse to vote for them.

    You know who you are.

  3. Mark Stern yesterday answered to my satisfaction some questions I had concerning his candidacy.

I previously had endorsed Brian Colgan, being unaware of his serving on Senator Mark Kirk’s staff.

Believing that to present a conflict of interest, I withdrew my endorsement of Brian, but do commend his service.

I now endorse Mark Stern in his bid to serve on the State Central Committee.

As Algonquin Township Precinct 33 Committeeman, I will be voting for him this coming Wednesday.

  4. I also support Mark Stern, and will be voting for him on Wednesday.

  5. Stern is an excellent choice.

He is the one you can thank for being able to FOIA govt employment contracts such as Superintendents of public schools.

He sued Wheaton Warrenville CUSD 200 all the way to the Illinois Supreme Court to obtain Supt Gary Catalani’s employment contract.

The school board had claimed they were exempt from releasing the contract because they had placed it in the personnel file, a claim that Lisa Madigan herself wrot was ludicrous and she recommended the school board release the contract, but the school board chose to ignore her advise.

He has devoted a lot of his personal time to understanding how local governments operate.

  6. Isn’t Mark Stern the guy who signed up with and assisted the FAKE republican group called Republican Fund for Progress and Jobs?

The group who took in tons of money from the unions and tried to hijack our primary by attempting to shred Rauner?

No, I will not be supporting Mark Stern.

I am sure he is a good guy but choices are made in the primary, and Mark made his when he signed up with this PAC.

  7. Not sure who Stern suppotred in the primary.

Obviously not everyone’s preferred primary candidate makes it to the general election.

If it was not for Stern we would not know Wheaton District 200 gave Superintendent Gary Catalani a block of 185 free sick days plus 18 sick days per year plus paid him a per diem pro rated amt of his salary for unused sick days at retirement not credited to TRS, and that was just one perk in the contract.

  8. Stern would complement Rauner well.

Both are passionate about and have spent a lot of unpaid personal time understanding the public education system in Illinois.

Stern will take the position seriously and put a lot of time and effort into it.
