$13,488.49 is the amount that Chief Deputy Treasurer Glenda Miller reports having spent since the first of the year in her successful campaign for the Republican nomination for McHenry County Treasurer against Crystal Lake City Councilman Jeff Thorsen.
Thorsen reports having spend $21,607.35 since January 1st.
Miller has almost $37,000 left in the bank and no Democratic Party opponent in sight.
The vote was 14,669 for Glenda Miller to 11, 894 for Jeff Thorsen.
Miller won by over 55% to just under 45% for Thorsen.
It looks like McHenry County picked the right person to be treasurer.
She knows how to manage the money, spends almost half the money, and wins.
Jeff Thorsen’s open support of the old CLPD’s thuggish leaders, Lowery and Linder, did him in.
Many just couldn’t vote for him because he was apparently blind during the overt tyranny of these two thugs.
Though he ran along side Prim, as others have noted here, he lost because his old CLPD friends were mortal enemies of both Prim and Bianchi, and many business leaders in Crystal Lake.
Thorsen is a good man and I really think he would have been a very good Treasurer.
His graceful concession speech was indicative of what a good man he is.
Too bad he was associated with these horrible men.
