Pete Merkel and David Kranz Slated for Conservation District Board

MCCD logo 2014Two new members of the Board of the McHenry County Conservation District will be considered for approval at next Tuesday’s meeting.

Both would be appointed for five year terms.

Former County Board member Pete Merkel from McHenry is one and the other is David Kranz of Woodstock.

I wonder if anyone on the County Board asked if they would put a referendum on the ballot to hike the corporate rate 50% or sell bonds without asking for voter approval, if State Senator Pam Althoff’s bills pass the Illinois General Assembly.

  1. Maybe the taxpayers ought to go to the meeting and ask.

  2. Still waiting for an adequate explanation of why a Conservation District needs a Police Force.

  3. No volunteer (unpaid) committee membership term should be for more than two years!!
