There’s a story about Pike County State’s Attorney Carrie Boyd handing in her resignation yesterday.
She had accused him of felony misconduct in his additional role as Coroner, a charge to which the Sheriff pleaded not guilty.

“An Adams County judge on Monday ruled that having the Pike County State’s Attorney’s office prosecute the case was a conflict of interest.
“The judge said he would refer the case to the State’s Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor and then the Illinois Attorney General’s office.”
