How can the vote be stolen?
In our modern world, the iconic image of someone slipping extra ballots into the ballot box on Election Day seems outdated, yet that’s exactly what some Illinois politicians are trying to do for the November election.
On late Friday evening, May 30th, HB0105 was passed by the Illinois General Assembly out of the public’s discriminating eye; a common tactic for Illinois government over the last few years.
The November election features businessman Bruce Rauner (R) going head to head with Governor Pat Quinn (D), who now has a bill on his desk that will make stealing the vote as easy as stealing candy from a baby.
House Bill 0105 attempts to impose Election Day voter registration on Illinois exclusively for 2014 without public debate.
If signed by Governor Quinn, there will be no requirements for anyone to show photo or state issued ID if they register to vote on Election Day in November.
The bill also extends early voting by one day and grace period voting through Election Day.
Unbelievably, those who register to vote on Election Day can cast a ballot, which is counted at 7pm on Election Day, before anyone has had a chance to verify the new voter’s registration.
The main room at the Crystal Lake Park District Main Beach House is the polling place for those who live in Algonquin Township south, east and north of the lake.
Filed under the Public University Act, HB0105 mandates that each public university[i] maintains an in-person absentee polling place where students can vote in-person absentee ballots on Election Day.
HB0105 also requires every election jurisdiction to offer Election Day voter registration at a permanent polling place through Election Day.
Anyone can register to vote with a fake lease, or any form of paperwork that has an address on it, and no one will know it’s fake until after the ballot has been cast and counted.
That’s right; Governor Quinn is contemplating signing a bill which allows Election Day voter registration without requiring any verification of ID provided at the moment of registration.
But HB0105 doesn’t stop there. One thing that has kept early voting secure is that voters are required to show ID before they can cast their ballot, but that won’t be true for the upcoming election if this bill is signed into law.
“Except for during the 2014 general election, the applicant’s identity must be verified…” (10 ILCS 5/19A-35, B iv).
Under HB0105, state-issued photo ID is no longer required for people who wish to cast an early voting ballot in the 2014 November election.
Mickey Mouse could be voting in Illinois again this fall.
Mickey Mouse could register to vote on Election Day and cast an early voting ballot, and it would be counted without anyone wondering what he’s doing outside of TV land.
There is some real confusion as to whether or not each early voting site will be morphed into a grace period voting location two days before the election based on the designation of the site as permanent, or not.
There is also confusion as to whether or not the Bill requires grace period ballots cast on the day before the election and on Election Day must be cast as provisional ballots.
Defend the Vote believes the law does not require the ballots to be provisionally cast; HB 0500 only provides that they may be cast as provisional ballots.
This omni-bill changes how your vote is secured in Illinois, and most of the changes are for the upcoming governor’s election. Worse, most of the changes make the vote more susceptible to untraceable fraud. If Governor Quinn signs this bill into law, you can bet that Illinois will see one of its messiest voting seasons yet, and it won’t only be the dead who are rising to vote.
If you believe in having a clean election, make sure your voice is heard! Call Governor Quinn’s office in Springfield at 217-782-0244 and in Chicago at 312-814-2121. Tell him that you don’t approve of politicians who change the security of their vote for their own potential political gain.

You really need to understand the ramifications of what Meroni has written and you need to SHARE this information with every person you know because the mainstream media is complicit in creating this chaos in both instances!
If Jack Franks is truly against the policy changes noted above, why has he not been on the news talking about it?
I believe the reference to “HB 0500” toward the end of post is not correct.
Logical way to model and analyze this problem:
Set the premise as :
Voter fraud as a consequence of voters protected from identity checks is more, or less, socially destructive than legitimate voters whose vote is rendered impossible due to voter identity checks? (Is X>Y?)
Now the data needed to determine the answer as a simple majority is:
X= votes cast fraudulently which could have been prevented by ID checks
Y= vote NOT cast due to provable correlation with ID checks.
Logic implies that either party might avail itself of the claimed loophole created by failure to check ID.
SO, the next analysis must become, what factors, weighted, are relevant to fraudulent voting motivation? (Honor, truthfulness, ambition, greed, sociopathic disregard for fellow humans, narcissistic franchise on knowing how everyone else should be required to behave)?
We do have voter fraud protection – you have to show an ID when you register.
There is more of a statistical sway from ballots being incorrectly processed, like in the Zinke/Prim race where there are less than 10 votes otherwise found that weren’t tallied, than fraud.
How many people committed voter fraud in McHenry County?
Probably none.
This isn’t the 1800’s anymore where you can shave your mustache, then your neck beard, and vote three times.
Intelligent voters and citizens should understand by now this is more about voter suppression than access…
People read again what Fair Play just wrote.
They are right but I do know their was a time when people could put on a mustache and shave their heads in Chicago to vote many times. l.o.l. but those days are gone.
Showing your I.D. is the way to prevent voter fraud.

Susan: There is no “Y” factor in Illinois.
Why?
Because ALL voters, regardless of their confirmed identity or registration status can vote a provisional ballot if they are questioned about their to right to vote on Election Day.
With the provisional ballot, the identity and registration status of the voter is a confirmed and if valid, the ballot is always counted….
Thus, there is No Y factor of voter disenfranchisement by ID requirement, only the X-Factor of voter disenfranchisement by fraud, a reality EVERY voter in Illinois has endured.
Fair Play: In Illinois there is no requirement for photo or state-issued ID to register to vote.
If you register on-line, the last 4 of your social security number is confirmed with your state ID or drivers license.
If you register by mail, photo ID is no longer required when you go to vote.
If you register in person, you can bring a fake lease or a letter with your name and address on it, and any plastic card with your name on it and be instantly registered.
In all cases citizenship status is not confirmed.
In the days of past, election authorities could verify the voter’s identity before the vote was counted. HB0105 removes these protections just in time for Quinn’s attempt at re-election.
Connecting the Dots: You are correct, this needs to be spread to voters across Illinois so they are aware of how the X-Factor under Quinn is spreading across the state.

Sharon, how can you in one breath say that no ID is required, then in the next say a voter would need the last four if their social, or a drivers license or a state ID to register.
Here’s the thing, Sharon, you are trying to look for a problem where there is none.
So what if people cast provisional ballots w/o ID?
The number of prov ballots thrown out in the 2004/2006 general elections was less than a tenth of a percent of the aggregate population of the US.
What I would love to see is less requirements to vote and more of an effort to get more folks out the vote.
If members of the GOP like you spent more time fostering good policy and less time trying to game the system so non-white, city dwelling folks that tend to not have IDs wouldn’t vote, you might not have to try wringing your hands while instituting voter suppression tactics.
Why don’t any Republican Party legislators try and pass a law that would make it so when you go try by alcohol, you have to show your ID when you get to the liquor store, when you’re going to pay for what liquor you want, and when you go to leave?
Why do we not have election days on Sundays when we do not have rush of to work?
