It really is no surprise that the Chicago Sun-Times is a paper that usually supports Democrats.
After all, most of its circulation is in Cook County.
Nevertheless, the one-two punch given by columnists Carol Marin and Mark Brown did surprise me.
No big secret that they consistently favor Democrats, but wouldn’t you think they might reason that anyone could be do better than those who have been in charge since 2002?
It’s a pity, Cal, you red herring attack the Sun Times instead of addressing their arguments.
Rauner is promising the age old adage of transparency?
Predictable.
Rauner plans to cut spending?
Gee, I haven’t heard that in the last five years.
Rauner is offering little substantive criticism for what he would do as governor, instead choosing to talk about chickens?
Way to drive a dialogue about the things that matter.
And here is the thing – I want Rauner to win – Quinn is a mook that has waffled since Blago was indicted; the most substantial legislation passed has been relayed to civil rights and not for fixing Illinois’ financial ruin.
Nevertheless, it is a pity that Rauner is wearing flannel, a 9 dollar watch, and talking about chickens instead of coming out with a jobs plan and saying, “Elect me because I’m rich and know how to manage money.’
His populist, prairie chicken appeal is disengenuous.
The only thing Rauner needs to say is elect me because I know how to manage money.
He has a track record of managing money.
And yes there are two Marks that comment on McHenry County Blog, maybe someday I’ll come up with a more complete name.
