A fundraiser was held for Republican candidate for State Representative Steve Reick‘s Thursday night.
The site was Plum Garden, the restaurant owned by Perry Moy, a prior opponent of Democrat Jack Franks.
Photos that have been sent me indicate that the turnout was respectable.
“Packed” was the word used to describe the crowd.
The current Republican Party Chairman, Sandra Salgado was present, as was former County Chairman Jack Schaffer.
Franks took great offense at a message Schaffer allowed to be posted on one of his Liberty Outdoor billboards when McHenry Grade School Board member John O’Neill ran against him in 2010.
It will be interesting to see if anyone is willing to update the message (must be over a million by now) and post it throughout the 63rd State Representative District.
County Board members were in attendance, too.
Both Alden Township Supervisor Preston Rae and Reick ran write-in campaigns for Republican Precinct Committeeman.
That occurred when Rae, the incumbent, failed to file a petition for re-election.
Rea won the race, but attended Reick’s fundraiser.
If Jack Schaffer gets indicted, that phot may come back to haunt Ms. Salgado>
OldManWinter, I hope you are right on this one.
Knowing Jack, she probably did not have a choice, or she could not say no.
Jack likes photo that are put out there for the public to see.
Wow.
The local Republican Party is an impressive group of sophisticated problem solvers.
This is embarrassing.
The only advantage the Republicans have is that the laughably ridiculous Democrats are their political enemies.
The Democrats give the Republicans their only chance.
The Republicans are lucky the Water Buffaloes are not contending for political power.
