Oakwood Hills Response to Freedom of Information Request

When I read that threats were said to have been made against Oakwood Hills village officials, it occurred to me that if that were true there ought to be a paper trail.

So, I just filed a Freedom of Information request asking for documentation.

I have to admit being surprised when I immediately got the following rely:

The reply sent to a request from McHenry County Blog for documentation of threats to Oakwood Hills village officials.

The reply sent to a request from McHenry County Blog for documentation of threats to Oakwood Hills village officials.

If no reply is received by the Monday after next (five business days after the next day the village office should be open), rest assured that an appeal will be filed with the Public Access Division of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.

  1. Those spineless cowards, time for them to get a back bone…

Whatsa matter Board members, you don’t know how to answer the difficult questions? Time to elect a new Village Board…

The tax payers are on to them and now they can’t face the music.

Keep fighting for your rights people.

Let them know they don’t have the final say so on this project…

    Keep promoting the social media.

If you have to, appeal to people across the United States just like the Bundy’s did…

  2. NEWS FLASH!!!

Filing a false police report is an offense that may be charged as a felony. The States Attorney’s office can initiate the charges.

If you have brought false allegations of personal threats, that is reprehensible.

Time to put down your weapons and give our tax payers what they want.

  3. False police reports and false arrests are nothing more than an attempt to discredit those that are trying to bring the truth the the public, and it is just one more form of retaliation.

We have an election this fall people. Vote for BILL PRIM.

  4. Thanks again Cal

    We really need your help.

There is a lot going on here and I’m convinced that not all of it is legal.

  5. Thanks again Cal. We really need your help.

There is alot going on here and I’m convinced not all of it is legal

  6. Thank you Cal. The homeowners of Oakwood Hills need the truth to come out

  7. If the Funk can respond to NW herald reporters she is apparently conducting Village business. People calling for your resignation is not a threat to anything but your political “career” Board members, your actions speak loudly, please don’t take direction from your inept leader. There is no reason to hide, this is only making matters much worse and doing anything but cooling things down. Thanks Cal for always telling the truth. None of the 3,500 people in this Facebook group should be subscribing to the NWHerald

  8. What is the name of the police officer that demanded that an Oakwood Hills resident take down a sign in his own yard? Those actions represent a violation of freedom of speech.

  9. cal, Thank you for your knowledge, information and reporting on the Freedom of Information issue.

You are right, if the business of the public is being suspended…the public needs to know why it was necessary.

I am so upset that the NWH reported that people had been escorted out of the meeting on the 24th.

No one except a vey nice young gal who was very confused was escorted out.

That exchange will actually show up on the transcripts because it was Took place at the microphone.

I was comforted by the kindness that the chairman of the zoning committee had for this person.

I believe That he and others knew her personally and were treating her with respect.

That is the only person who was escorted out of the meeting.

Shame on the efforts of the village to make that an issue.

    They are shameless.

  10. They lied. Instead of victimizing one person at a time, now they are victimizing mass quantities of people. Now you know what the Northwest Herald did to Bianchi and others.. You have proof that the Northwest Herald is betraying the public trust by not reporting the real facts. The Northwest Herald should be run out of town by a major boycott of the paper. If no one buys the paper, they can’t stay in business..

  11. Remember the Montgomery Bus Boycott, in which African Americans refused to ride city buses in Montgomery Alabama to protest segregated seating?

As a result, the United States Supreme Court ordered Montgomery to integrate the bus system.

Come on Mchenry County how about it?

Cancel your newspaper subscriptions and buy the Tribune….

Kevin Lyons will have plenty of time to play his favorite game of cards with “DA BOYS”

  12. “Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon. It is a sword that heals cuts without wounding and enables the man who wields it”

  13. You shouldn’t expect competency from a municipality that has a list of “Village Official’s” on its website.

  14. I was sitting at the table outside the meeting room on the 24th throughout the meeting …

I did not witness anyone removed from the room except that sweet lady that was obviously in pain of some sort…and she was walked out by another community member not the police.

I did not witness any threats or anyone escorted out by police.

I did not see anyone arrested.

It was emotional and people were upset but from my view of all the doors inside and the outside door

I did not witness any police action at all.

  15. Duncan, The Northwest Herald didn’t even print Bill Prim’s Press release about him being appointed to the board of directors for the Air-One Emergency Response Coalition.

God forbid they would say ANYTHING nice about him, or for that matter, ANYTHING.

Hopefully, they will acknowledge Bill when he wins The McHenry County Sheriff’s Race…..

Just goes to show that The Northwest Herald has nothing of interest to say………..don’t buy it, boycott it !

    VOTE PRIM

  16. You are my Hero, get to the truth. Thank you for standing up for all the little people.

  17. “Happy Trails” The Northwest Herald is politically biased.

They also participated in that witch hunt of Bianchi.

They have their own agenda and it is not always aligned with the facts.

No one should buy that paper.

  18. What are the threats?

At the very least inform the public of what the threat is.

    We deserve to know.

    We have families to protect.

Is there a psychopath on the loose or what?

    JUST SAYING!!!!
