Bill Prim Buys 4-H Pig for Fundraiser — 33 Comments

  1. Prim is a true supporter of all in McHenry County.

He will make a fine Sheriff.

    Vote for Bill in November.

  2. How did Harrison support the 4-H Club…..must have missed him……\

Oh forgot.. on the midway campaigning with Tamara

  3. A Vote 4-Prim =

A Vote 4-The People of McHenry County

  4. Just Joe

Guess you don’t like it when two good men can work together as a team which will benefit all in our County.

Vote Prim in November……for a man who will serve the people

  5. Prim is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bianchi along with the wealthy and powerful interests behind him.

There is no point denying this.

The only question is whether this consolidation of power matters to the citizens of McHenry County.

When the two top law enforcement officers in the county are so closely tied together who stands to gain and who stands to lose?

  6. How is buying a pig and supporting the 4-H club related to a working relationship with Bianhci.

Does that mean everyone at the fair who supported the 4-H club has an alternative motive.

    Don’t be ridiculous Priest.

Anyone who is the Sheriff should have a good working relationship with the
    States Attorney.

    You mention the word Power.

Power is not what Prim is about…

He is about working for the people of McHenry County.

  7. Child, in deference to your recent personal changes in behavior where you have managed a modicum of respect and reasonable exchange with others I’ll answer this…

My statement was not broad, not unclear and had nothing to do with 4H or anyone but Bianchi and Prim.

Bianchi has very wealthy and powerful interests behind him.

These same interests support Prim heavily.

Bianchi, being the elder politician in McHenry County, has taken Prim under his political wing and has squired him all over the county.

In political terms this is the definition of the weaker less experienced politician being beholden to the elder stronger politician.

This can be exceptionally dangerous to The People when these two individuals are the top determinants of law enforcement in one county.

Vast difference between “beholden” and “solid egalitarian working relationship”.

It is still up to the citizen to determine whether they want this type of relationship between a few elite residents of the county, the States Attorney and the Sheriff’s office.

  8. It’s hard to bring back trust when Zinke was beholden to Nygren.

This will be an new era.

Working together and knowing that Prim is his own man.

I understand your concern but that is thinking of the past and not the future.

It is going to take some time to bring that trust back since for so long it was run with deceit.

Prim will bring the trust back and work FOR the people.

  9. So, priest, We should have a Gary Pack pal that cannot understand a contract he signed for a booth at the fair?

Not supposed to campaign the aisles.

Stay within 2 feet of your booth.

    Too difficult for him?

Bianchi along with many, many just want a good QUALIFIED sheriff.

  10. Hey, “Priest” ………

If Quinn would have bought the swine and ate it ….. would he then be a cannibal?

  11. Prim is just going to get the PORK out of the Sheriff’s Office.

Nygren spending every dime he can.

Does not want a penny left when he goes.

  12. One day “back” I may have the energy to address Harrison and Prim and their relative “qualifications”.

The thought exhausts me as I still have a long day ahead of me after a long day behind me.

The world never stops doing business.

Suffice it to say neither are truly qualified in the sense I’d hire them to run 400 people and a myriad of departments and trust their ability to do so day one.

This will be OJT all the way through the first term so this election is fundamentally pick n pray.

There are rabid opinions on both sides about heart and intent.

    This is really the battleground.

It’s why I question who is beholden to whom so I may suss out their hearts.

We’ll see but no one is bringing Gary back.

Gary doesn’t even want to be back.

    Such a mess…

Old man, how can an empty suit cannibalize anything?

But you and Just Joe were SO close to The Joke Which Is Too Easy….

  13. Thanks Bill for supporting our 4H kids.

As a kid in McHenry County I showed by dogs in obedience and made it to the Illinois State Fair…

It’s nice to know that we still have the county fair to promote our home town community and home town values.

  14. That is what Bill Prim does….helps the community.

I think it was great that he supported the 4-H club.

He also is a supporter of the Boy Scouts and other organizations.

He truly wants to serve the people of the County.

Bill will also be a leader and example for the Sheriff’s department.

With ALL his qualifications and experience I don’t see how he could be beat.

  15. Let’s maintain a bit of clarity here…

I realize this is a bought and paid for ad for Prim (as most every Prim related story on MCB is and has been), but come on—the man BOUGHT a pig, that’s all.

The fact that all these posters swoon and clamor over a the purchase of a swine is one part really funny and one larger part, sad.

Folks, nothing to see hear and certainly nothing to report here.

This is just a political ad and, had this been a news outlet–would have to have that little “This ad purchased by…” disclaimer at the end.

  16. really

It is sad that people like you always think there is an underlining motive.

News flash……..Some people or I’ll say a lot of people help their County by supporting it.

If people in McHenry County keep thinking like you the County will never move in a new direction.

I’m also glad that their are wonderful citizens that support organizations.

You are the one turning this gesture of support by Prim into a political
    move.

    You are so wrong.

  17. Voter, voter, voter.

I’ll phrase one question to you that should serve to clear your mind on my point:

If Harrison bought this pig—would there be a story commemorating (celebrating) it?

Get back to me with your answer and then you’ll see who’s wrong.

  18. BTW…can’t help but notice the five point star on the left side of Prim’s shirt.

Wasn’t a similar symbol a bone of contention in campaigns a short while back?…

I recall reading some blog space decrying the public use of a similar emblem in campaign material.

Where’s the Zane crowd on this, or is this instance okay?

  19. It’s called a Jr. Deputy badge.

Sheriff Keith Nygren’s deputies were handing them out.

Undoubtedly paid for with taxpayer money.

Somehow I imagine that Bill Prim was amused.

  20. “really” take your jealousy elsewhere.

Whats matter that big fat bowl of over buttered popcorn isn’t good enough for you anymore?

Now giddy up, if you don’t hurry your’e going to miss those special editions of those famous TV shows “Let’s Make a Deal” and the “Price is Right”

Gordy will be very disappointed if you arrive late.

Don’t be expecting Keith Nygren to share his couch either.

  21. If Nygrens deputies were handing out badges to the kids and did give Prim a Jr. kids badge it must be that they want Prim to be their next Sheriff and leader.

Now that pig is getting a whole lot of publicity.

We should name it and give him a pardon. l.o.l.

  22. Let’s be honest, who really has funded the Nygren and Zinke campaigns?

    The Chicago unions.

    Is Nygren really a Republican?

    Is Harrison really an Independent.

Follow the money to get your answers.

I would vote for any candidate that is funded by true Republicans like Lou Bianchi any day of the week.

For those of you who don’t think this story is news worthy, I guess you missed the news just over the border at the Wis State Fair.

Gov. Walker was the auctioneer for the hog auction at their state fair.

It’s a long standing tradition in Wisconsin for the Governor to be the auctioneer.

Yes, this story is news worthy, people like to hear when people support volunteer organizations like 4-h and scouts.

After all the first founders to McHenry County were farmers.

Why not support them and their organizations that help kids?

  23. Glad to hear it was a sticker–wouldn’t want to have another silly circus over the misuse of a five point star.

Thought it was inane the first time around, but I’m all about the goose and the gander.

It’s just not equitable or fair to not hold everyone to the same standard.

But, voter, my question stands–would this be a story if anyone else bought the pig?

Duncan, what on Earth does any of this have to do with popcorn and TV shows (I guess I’m either lost, I can’t follow your psychosis or you should be monitored when on the computer)?

I certainly don’t get your point Duncan…Nygren’s couch?

What are you saying (slandering) here?

There’s no jealousy here and certainly don’t try to insinuate something you have no knowledge of (namely where I stand politically because you haven’t gotten it right yet)…let’s try to stay on task and not deflect the issue (it’s hard to answer, but easy to sling mud and play strawman games).

Lastly, my point is not about anyone supporting, or not supporting, farmers or 4 H or kids, stay on issue and don’t read into my question (because you’ve clearly no idea where I’m coming from with it).

I’ll beleaguer my point one last time- this is a political advertisement and, (if you were to replace Prim in the photos and fluff of the article) there is no article.

I beg you to try not to assume more than that…

  24. Attila—last I checked, Walker is the elected and standing Governor of a State.

Prim is one of two candidates for County Sheriff.

Despite what may happen in November, Prim hasn’t won the office yet.

There are several animals that are auctioned at the County Fair–I’ve yet to see photos and read about them here.

Now, I’m not slamming Prim for the purchase–don’t read into my posts–I’m merely pointing out this is a FLUFF piece.

    That is all….

  25. I’m not falling into ” really’s” game he is trying to create so join me in not answering him.

This started out as Prim supporting the community period and a few people don’t like to see that so they turn it around.

  26. Now voter, no game here–but I guess I’m getting to you.

Funny (not in the haha sense) but if ANYONE posts ANYTHING that is less than 101% supportive of your (in the general MCB poster sense) cause–they get ganged up on and attacked.

I never said I don’t like Prim, never said I don’t support Prim–all I’ve ever been for is fairness and equitable treatment of everyone and, specifically, the process.

Perhaps you don’t agree with my style of interaction–but several posters here have (time and time again) proven my point that anything but blind following of the consensus is attacked (in an almost juvenile manner).

True, I do play from time to time–but that’s just to show where I am coming from-since I refuse to be a Cyber Clint Eastwood and badger those with divergent points of view, but I will parlay.

I just refuse to drink the Kool-Aid because some pseudo named, cyber bully will accuse me of being anti-community, pro-corruption, etc, etc, ad naseum.

If that’s too much for you and inhibits your collective hive mind enough to diffuse some of your ilk’s ‘All or nothing at all’ mindless-ideologue–then too bad.

Because unless and until Cal elects to censor my posts, I shall continue to express my (apparent) minority point of view and keep that middle ground.

God bless and have a great weekend.

  27. If you were a political candidate and sent me a photo relating to the 4-H Auction, you would have an article.

  28. Fair enough Cal, thank you.

In all sincerity, I’ll take that and be content with it.

  29. “really” do I really have to lead the horse to the water?

If you can’t figure it out, that is your problem…Based on your comments, the one suffering from psychosis is you…

By the way, you are an audacious one, telling Cal what he can and can’t print on his own blog….

Whatsa matter, you Regime supporters are not in control anymore?

    News flash, you never were.

  30. Duncan—that’s all you have?

That’s your reply? I’ll resist regressing farther and volley with your pre-adolescent retort…

I never told Cal what he can or cannot print on his blog.

I’m merely pointing out the hypocrisy that is rampant here.

You claim to be anti ‘regime’, yet brow-beat, belittle and beleaguer anyone you perceive to not be just like you and a full fledged supporter of your line of thought.

You wanted the ‘old guard’ out of McHenry County politics–but you not only rip on having anyone but your candidate run for office but your ilk has openly called for them not to run (how anti-democratic of you).

    It’s hypocrisy, pure and simple.

Now, you assume I’m a ‘regime supporter’, when you’ve zero clue on my allegiance or my alliance.

News flash—you sound just like this ‘regime’ you purport to have defeated.

My greater and deeper thought is that MCB is truly a voice of the people–a NEUTRAL venue that is unlike the NWH you all slam.

    But guess what?

When there’s bias there can not be neutrality and without neutrality you don’t get truth…you get propaganda.

Now, Cal kindly expressed to me what I had hoped, that MCB is neutral.

That’s great news…yet you won’t appreciate the deeper meaning behind that because you just see red whenever anyone has the audacity to think differently than you.

    Have a great day—

    I know I am…
