Serial Drunk Driver Gets Another Six Years

A press release from the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office:

WALTER DEPNER SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF AGGRAVATED DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Louis A. Bianchi, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Walter Depner, 62, of Mt. Prospect, was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of aggravated driving under the influence.

Previously, in 2003 the defendant was convicted of reckless homicide and sentenced to serve 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  [In that tragic event, Depner wiped out a whole family, except the father, while the family was on a trip to Six Flags.]

This case was investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff Department.

This case was prosecuted by David Metnick and Robert Zalud of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
