When someone is denied entry at the southern border, THAT IS COUNTED AS A DEPORTATION!

So how much does it cost to house an average of 9 detainees per month?
Oh, that’s right- the shaved monkeys who are responsible for that information can neither read or write- the most plausible reason for the lack of a budget, or any defensible documentation of spending.

And let us not forget that the drop in detainee numbers that Cal is citing occurred precisely when other regional facilities began accepting detainees.

That is like saying well if people killing others and we are not enforcing the law what else is wrong.
It doesn’t matter especially if you have illegals in custody or know of where they are you should go enforce the law.
If we knew where killers were but didn’t go get them to enforce the law why do we even have laws?
So the answer is what is broke is enforcing our laws when people get caught or are known to be illegals should be deported.
Unless “Congress” passes new laws and not an illegal “Presidential Executive Order” then we can go by those laws.
But until that happens enforce the ones you have on the books!
Live, my point is there should not be new laws but start enforcing the current ones; to me that does not mean the current laws are broke; the only thing that is broke are politicians who do not want to enforce them because of votes.
