Sheriff’s Campaign Contributions – Zinke Reports Contributions from Jail Medical Services Provider

Andy Zinke

Andy Zinke

Considering that former McHenry County Sheriff’s candidate Andy Zinke was conducting a discovery recount after the close Republican Primary Election during the second quarter of 2014, let’s look at his campaign committee’s financial records, too. (Winner Bill Prim’s were written about yesterday.)

Contributors giving more that $150 follow:

  • $500 – Joe Bosch of Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • $500 – Chris Bove of Franklin, Tennessee
  • $1,000 – Gerald Boyle, Correct Care Solutions, Nashville, Tennessee
  • $500 – Randall Marshall, Franklin, Tennessee
  • $500 – Robert Martin, Unionville, Tennessee
  • $315 – Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce (My guess is that this one is a refund on an unneeded Expo booth, but, if so, it is reported in the wrong place on the form.)

Corrrect Care Solutions logoIt is interesting that four out of the big contributions came from Tennessee.

I looked for Correct Care Solutions on the internet and found that it provides medical care for the McHenry County Jail.

County Board Resolution 1763, adopted October 16, 2012, at the Sheriff’s request, shows McHenry County contracted with the company for medical services at the correctional facility through November 30, 2017) as stated below:

  • $1,820,767 in the first year
  • $1,878,121 in the second year
  • $1,967,282 in the third year
  • $1,998,306 in the fourth year
  • $2,061,253 in the fifth year

The resolution gives the county an option to renew the contract for an additional four years.

Zinke had two expenditures:

  • $530 – Gummerson Rausch Wand Lee Wombacher LLC (for legal fees)
  • $2,826.17 – Pioneer Strategies LLC (for a mailing)

Zinke had $1,017.56 at the end of June.

Sheriff’s Campaign Contributions – Zinke Reports Contributions from Jail Medical Services Provider — 29 Comments

  1. All this is pretty interesting, but what about Prim’s right hand man?

Guess Primm’s pick of McNamara has to be pretty darn interesting too?

Cal, why don’t you have any coverage on that?

I mean, Zinke had Fukoko and this blog was all aflutter…

Prim has an arrested batterer, accused woman batterer and DUI driver as campaign manager (transitioned, rather conveniently, to ‘volunteer’) and not ONE PEEP….

  2. Harrison is questioning Bill Prim’s lack of judgement, but I question his…….

    Memorial Day signatures……..

    $16,250.00 returned to State’s Attorney………

worked with Gary Pack and Keith Nygren……….

e-mailing Chairman of McHenry County Democrats for his help with signatures…….

Please donate to The McHenry County Democrats on his behalf……….

If he wants “GUILT” by association…….he has PLENTY !!!!!!

Also, did Harrison do background checks on all his volunteers !!

  3. Are you kidding me. Harrison questioning Bill Prim’s judgement.

    Now that is laughable.

What is bad judgement is Harrison’s association with Pack, and working for Nygren as his attorney for all those years.

Being involved in dirty politics for that long has to rub off.

    Harrison is getting desperate.

    What do you expect.

When a person has to go back to 2001,that’s 13 years ago, to try and get dirt on someone who is not even running is pretty bad.

Is Harrison going to investigate me because I threw out candy while walking in a parade for support of Prim.

Is that what Harrison has resorted to.

Getting a list of Prim supporters and running a check on them?

One thing for sure is that some people will resort to dirty politics but I know Bill Prim will not.

    I’ll stick with Prim.

Better look back at yourself Harrison.

  4. Why in the world are we spending 1.8 million dollars on medical care.

If the care is for inmates, they should be paying for it instead of the taxpayers.

Seems like a pretty steep bill.

How is the money being spent?

  5. Let’s not forget where Harrison came from..

Nygren….Pack…Nygren Pack..Yep, this is directly the same way that Nygren was..

Jimmy has to pay people to sign his petition forms ?

Come on, whats that telling us about you right from the start..

A little bit of money and you do this for me ?…..

Harrison, Zinke and Nygren,..McHenry County has spoken, and the next Sheriff of McHenry County will be Mr. Bill Prim.

No matter how low of political attacks you try taking.

Now, lets talk about some of the outrageous amounts of money you charged the us tax payers for you pal Nygren and Gary Pack shall we ?

Wait, wasn’t their something called quid pro quo ?

Ah come one, your a lawyer, you know what this means right, “SOMETHING FOR SOMETHING “, well shall we begin discussing these somethings now ?

  6. Mr. Harrison questioning Prim’s judgement.

Isn’t that a kick in the head.

Did it ever occur to anyone that Prim corrects what is wrong?

It was after the primary that Prim became his own campaign manager.

I am confident that when Prim becomes Sheriff he will keep the department on the up and up and if he finds anything different he will take care of it.

Dirty campaigning on Harrison’s part we will see because he is desperate.

  7. Dirty campaigning is what Harrison is now doing.

I see it on t.v. now by other candidates and hate it.

If you have to dig up something so minor 14 years ago you do have to be desperate as others have said.

Bill Prim has my November vote.

  8. A whole lotta deflection going on here.

Nygren this, Pack that, Zinke there, Harrison here—yet no proof of anything concrete, just hints, whispers and innuendos.

Last I checked, none of these folks had been indicted or arrested–Prim’s right hand man was.

Continue to bash Zinke all you want, it’s easy–he lost and we all get it–and it’s really old news.

Question here is, what about Prim’s selection for his right hand man during this campaign?

Now, sure McNamara is currently called a ‘volunteer’, but as a long time campaign manager his record of battery, woman battery and DUI should have certainly been vetted by Prim and Bianchi and the Crew–if so, why keep him around? and if not, why wasn’t his history known?????

Before casting stones, make sure your house is in order.

Hey fellas and gals, the goose and the gander is a very apt reference here…

  9. One last comment.

Is this the type of personnel we can expect Prim to bring to MCSO if he gets elected?

I mean a google search probably could have come up with McNamara’s history.

Now I have to wonder if Prim and his handlers knew about McNamara and not only kept him in the fold but propped him up anyway?

Sure speaks volumes if you ask me.

If he’s such a capable, competent and professional law enforcement officer, why didn’t he learn about McNamara’s penchant for alcohol and battering women?

I mean, Harrison, as everyone loves to harp on, was a cop for only 8 years, 20 years ago and he found out about McNamara….

Why didn’t Prim? one has to ask….

  10. “The facts State” There are a lot of something for somethings Harrison is hiding… including lots of skeletons…

Gosh Jim, what are the taxes on that lake home of yours?…

Living pretty cushy from what I can see.

  11. The Correct Care Solutions contract with McHenry County Jail is almost $10M.

    $9,725,729 to be exact.

No clue what profit margin is on that contract, but let’s say it’s 10%.

    That’s almost $1M profit margin.

    $972,542 to be exact.

    Adjust as you see fit.

Looking at Resolution 1763 dated October 16, 2012 in which the contract was approved.
“CCS was the lowest responsible bidder for healthcare services in the jail. The Sheriff’s Office is pleased with their past performance.”

Not listed are the other bids.

    CCS was the incumbent vendor.

  12. Really? needs to make up his/her mind.

He whines about Prim’s affiliation with McNamara.

When Harrison’s questionable affiliations are pointed out, he calls it deflection.

What is really funny is that Cal’s article was about Zinke’s campaign donations.

Yet Really? nearly broke his neck attempting to impugn Prim by bringing up the hit piece in the NWFishwrap.

You can’t have it both ways, although you most surely are trying.

In a futile, blatant partisan way.

  13. Paul, that first Really? wasn’t me.

As for breaking my neck, I’m merely aiming for some middle ground here.

Cal has said, in the past, that he has published a great deal about Prim because of the newsworthiness of the incident, not because Prim is a paid supporter of this blog (see the County Fair fluff piece).

I saw yet another dig at a down and out Zinke and merely looked for semblance of parity.

Deflect all you want, McNamara and his history is very salient as this is a present day political affiliation (not some past ‘conspiracy laden fodder’ people would like to draw obtuse conclusions over), and is all the more pertinent especially when character assassination seems to be the way bloggers on this page have acted over the past +2 years.

Make your bed, lay down, roll around and take your nap.

That’s my point–please don’t try to make it any more than that, because you don’t know the slightest of my politics nor my ideology.

I, for once, would like to see openness and parity—let Prim answer for McNamara–it’s a much more salient issue than whispers of property sales, contracted work and property tax (how is it relevant, in any realm, how much Harrison-or Prim-pays in property taxes as long as they pay their share????).

BTW, talk about hypocrisy, posters here love to bash NWH for their bias, yet happily jump down the throats of anyone who dares not fall in lock and goose step with their bias….HYPOCRITICAL!

  14. Harrison Hmmmmmm a “JERRY SPRINGER SHOCK JOCK”……

Come on down and watch the Jimmy Harrison show…lol……

    The worst show in town….

    No popcorn please….

Hey brotha, you gonna regret the day you acted like a keystone Kop…..

Gosh, Nygren gave you that badge.

    Yep, that explains it….

From above, please give mercy upon all of us in the coming days as we bear witness to that lawyer that likes to play cops and robbers.

  15. I’ll stick with Bill Prim thank you.

I have not heard anything negative about Harrison from Mr. Prim.

Prim is running a clean campaign and I see now that Mr. Harrison has resorted to dirty campaigning because, yes, he must be desperate like someone said.

I also see that Mr. Harrison is attacking Lou Bianchi for being on Mr.Prim’s side.

Mr. Prim you have my vote.

  16. Harrison is even attacking Lou Bianchi because he supports Prim.

    Making underlying accusations.

Harrison is no great attorney or long lost cop who found out something secret.

Anyone can copy court documents because they are public knowledge and on record.

Dirty campaigning is now what Harrison has resorted to.

  17. Duncan you are too funny.

Well that’s about all the attention I’m giving to Harrison because that is exactly what he wants.

Good night Mr. Harrison, see you in November when Bill Prim wins.

  18. Mr. Harrison………Alcoholism is a disease that affects over 14 million people in the U.S…….

To exploit a person who isn’t even running for Sheriff is a shameful act.

I would not wish alcoholism on you or any of your family.

To call him a Bar Room Bully is unacceptable and cowardly.

Although I don’t condone his actions, I wish nothing but the best for Matt, and hope he can beat his disease.

Thanks for your concern towards his health…….

    I’m sure he appreciates it.

    You are right….

    “There’s No Comparison…….

    There’s Only…….

  19. Hey Harrison,

Remember on Nov 17, 1998 when you decided to bill the County of McHenry for
20 hours for that County Board meeting. But guess what, the meeting lasted less than 2 hours.
    You were paid $2,500.

Remember Jan 19, 1999 when you decided to bill the County of McHenry for 11.7 hours of time spent at the McHenry County Executive Board meeting that lasted 20 minutes, you were paid $1,462.

And you were paid extra for preparing for these events, which weren’t included in this.

Come on Harrison, don’t get me started on pulling your skeletons out of that closet.

If you really wanted to run for Sheriff, then you shouldn’t pay others to get your petitions, plea and beg with people to walk with you and your 10 others in the parades…

If they wanted to walk for you, they would have,..

And guess what, they didn’t .And then you do this dirty political trick aimed towards Mr. Prim who all along has run a very open and honest campaign, shame on you and your manager Kukoo Tamara, Zinke and Nygren….

Matt is an outstanding man, and deserves an apology from you.

Again, vote for Mr. Bill Prim for our next McHenry County Sheriff.

  20. Harrison, remember what you said about the McHenry County Sheriffs Correctional Officers when they were seeking fair pay, and you represented Nygren against them ?

Remember how you made the hard men and women of McHenry County Sheriffs Corrections feel ?

And now you think they would forget ?…

    Nope, sorry Jimmy,

  21. And all these tricks were performed without one drink……..cold , calculating moves……no excuses……by cold calculating people……

Vote Prim….hang in there Matt, you’re doing a great job now….the past is the past….alcohol is not your friend….as for Harrison and the others……

  22. The ultimate betrayal…

Hardly doubt, that type if behavior will inspire camaraderie in the sherifs department.

Better find another line of work Jim.

  23. Don’t say you haven’t been warned of the prison industrial complex.

  24. IMHO the filthy corruption of McHenry Co.

CAN’T EVEN BEGIN until we have a decent Sheriff ……. and God took pity on the suffering taxpayers and citizens by outmaneuvering the professional hacks with Prim’s great victory over the forces of utter darkness.

But the clean-up of the County has a long way to go after the sham Harrison Manchurian candidacy is put out of its misery.

  25. Please insert “to be cleaned up” after “Begin’ of the first line.
