Crystal Lake Police Arrest Subject for Robbery

On Saturday, September 28th, Crystal Lake Police responded to the 7-11 located at 19 Berkshire Drive for a report of a robbery at the business.

On Tuesday, October 14th, Crystal Lake Police again responded to the 7-11 for a report of a robbery.

In both cases, the suspect had forcefully removed cash from the register and fled the scene on foot.

Later in the evening on October 14th search warrant at 562 Somerset Lane #2, Crystal Lake, following an extensive investigation into the reported crimes.

Resident Jeffrey D. Gibson (42) was present and arrested on a warrant relating to the 2nd investigation supported an additional charge against Gibson for the robbery that occurred on September 28th

Jeffrey D. Gibson was charged with the following offenses:

• Robbery, 720 ILCS 5/18-1, a Class 2 Felony
• Theft from Person, 720 ILCS 5/16-1-4(b), a Class 3 Felony

Jeffrey D. Gibson was later confined at the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock, where his bond was set at $180,000.
