Rauner Sends Mailing Urging Early Voting

Some may remember how the Republicans got skunked in 2008 by the Barack Obama early voting campaign.

The Dems still have an excellent early and absentee voting program, but Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner is trying to level the playing field.

When he spoke to a Women for Rauner rally last week, that was his message.

Rauner and others spoke to about 30 women public officials, plus plenty more.

He stressed the importance of urging people to vote early.

Now his campaign has sent an apparently zoned mailing with his pitch, plus the addresses of three early voting locations–the Lake in the Hills Village Hall, Algonquin Township’s Offices and the County Administrative Building.

The bottom of the inside plays the Jim Edgar card, plus lists a couple of places where one can vote early.

Apparently aimed at the most southeastern part of the county, the mailing fails to mention the Crystal Lake City Hall.

No Do-Overs for Early Voters

The County Clerk’s web site states,

Any voter who requests an “Early Ballot” or an “In Person Absentee Ballot” MAY NOT go to the polls on Election Day and revoke the ballot he originally requested. The law prohibits any voter who has been issued an “In Person Absentee Ballot” or “Early Ballot” from appearing at his precinct polling place and requesting another ballot.

Rauner Sends Mailing Urging Early Voting — 2 Comments

  1. How can Rauner level the playing field against the cheats and ballot stuffers???????

  2. I’m voting for the only pro-life candidate for Governor, Libertarian Chad Grimm.

Quinn and the abortion-loving Rauners are two sides of the same Democrat
