CL Councilman Endorses Bill Prim, Praises Clean Campaign

Jeff Thorsen

Crystal Lake City Councilman Jeff Thorsen ran unsuccessfully for McHenry County Treasurer in the Republican Primary Election, but from his attendance at Republican events, you would hardly think so.

He is an active supporter of Bill Prim and offers the following reasons:

This sheriff’s election is the single most important election in memory.

The outcome will place considerable power into the hands of the victor.

Bill Prim will handle this burden with great responsibility.

Those of you who know me know that I do not abide negative campaign strategies.

I hate to see the run for sheriff dissolve into a one-sided mud-slinging event that revolves around nothing that has to do with candidate qualifications and seeks to demean supporters for past events.

I wonder where that train will stop.

Bill Prim has not allowed his campaign to tread that low road.

I know that it is hard to remain on the high road when supporters become the decided targets of your opponent’s mission.

I see this as a choice between an honest shake from Bill or a guy who might one day be looking for a way to come after you.

Vote Bill Prim.

  1. Harrison had proven himself to be the One Man Mean Machine

Vote Bill Prim and join the supporters who want the best for our County
Bill has run on his own merits and doesn’t have to sling mud, threaten
    supporters or go after volunteers.

Vote Prim, a Sheriff we can be proud of.

  2. After the one of the ugliest and dirtiest Primary campaigns this county has ever seen, there wasn’t much the Prim supporters could do but improve.

I suppose one way to run a “clean” campaign is to duck debates, not give interviews and depend up big money and party affiliation to win the vote.

Not exactly courageous or confident but definitely avoiding conflict and potential negativity.

  3. “When, if ever, Mr. Harrison becomes a certified candidate, as I have for the office of Sheriff, I would be happy to debate him.”

Bill Prim as quoted from this blog in January.

    A man of his word?

Or changing what he says to the public based on political odds?

  4. Mr Jerry Springer shock jock is certifiable, but not as a candidate.

Go back to the regime “butseriously”

  5. but – please tell your “upstanding candidate” Harrison (tongue in cheek) to STOP PUTTING SIGNS ON PROPERTY WITHOUT PERMISSION.

Owners getting ticked off and keep removing them.

Mr. sign placer with a 4 letter plate and Harrison stickers on your car – signs are NOT to be placed on property without permission.

    Even empty lots have owners.

  6. It’ not about the Prim supporters as they are not running.

It is about Bill Prim who is the best candidate to become the next Sheriff.

    All

you Harrison supporters are already making up excuses as to why your choice is not going to win and if you were truthful it would be because He has NO qualifications to become Sheriff.

Nothing personal, he just doesn’t have it

  7. But – tell your “upstanding citizen” Harrison (I am being sarcastic) that you SHOULD NOT BE PUTTING SIGNS ON PROPERTY WITHOUT OWNERS PERMISSION.

They are getting ticked off and removing them all over the county.

Even empty lots have owners and should GET PERMISSION.

Mr. Harrison’s guy with the license plate that has 4 letters and Harrison stickers all over the car – your are not appreciated with your sign placements.

NOT the kind of people we need in office.

  8. Prim does not have to rely on Party affiliation to win votes……….

    do you remember Zinke….

he had The Party behind him.

    Prim won !…

Prim relies on HIS QUALIFICATIONS, they tell the whole story……

If Harrison would have run as the Democrat that he is, he would have had them behind him too………

    oh wait, he did………

didn’t they help him get signatures ?

Whatever Party, any candidate belongs to, we should vote on qualifications.

As far as Bill Prim supporters go, maybe we were over the top in the primary, but people had to know the truth about Zinke.

Not Zinke supporters, but Zinke himself.

And don’t tell me about Prim’s volunteers again……it’s not Prim.

I will be voting for Bill Prim…….Nov. 4th, along with Jeff Thorsen and MANY others !

  9. Saw a Harrison sign in front of an abandoned house on Country Club Rd in Woodstock today…….

    no one lives there……

so, no one there is voting for him…….

  10. I think what Happy Trails meant was that Jeff Thorsen was going to vote for Prim and so was Happy Trails and others going to vote for Prim.

  11. I just read in this blog that the CLPD is corrupted and has several complaints against them that have fallen on the deaf ears of the City Council and the Mayor.

It might have not been a good idea for Crystal Lake City Councilman Mr. Thorsen to publicly endorse Bill Prim, considering all of the problems that Prim has with his key members criminal background.

  12. Bill Prim is the one running for Sheriff with excellent qualifications.

You are getting worried and you should be.

Time is running out and it will be on Tuesday, only 3 days away, when you will realize that your efforts to discredit Prim have not worked.

  13. Eric – you posts have all been very screwy but you have topped it.

The article you speak of was with THE SHERIFF’S DEPT.

    NOT THE CRYSTAL LAKE POLICE.

  14. “It’s not about Prim supporters as they are not running”–Those two esteemed members of the Prim campaign, to which you are so slantedly trying to deflect attention from–weren’t mere supporters, but trusted administrators and decision makers in Prim’s campaign.

Sure, there’s no way to curtail the origin of one’s support–but there certainly is a way to keep those with violent tendencies away from the day to day running of one’s campaign.

Prim’s failure to vette his own “house” is a very concerning issue. He either willfully surrounds himself with such ilk or lacks the ability to see such for what they are. Perhaps among all those accolades, Prim should have worked for one in background investigation….

  15. Really – how did Harrison get this info?

Why was it illegally on the Harrison website unredacted?

Didn’t the NWH catch it redact as soon as they caught it??

How many of the Harrison supporters and donors “questionable”? Some interesting stuff there??

    Why would anyone vet volunteers?

How many questionable people did Harrison defend?

Could there be repeat offenders that could cause a conflict??

  16. Really?, first of all after the Primary, Prim was the only one who was responsible for running his campaign.

The two people you are talking about do not or have not been responsible for decision making in Prim’s campaign.

Prim makes his own decisions and stands behind them.
