A press release from Paul Schimpf, the Republican candidate for Illinois Attorney General:
PAUL SCHIMPF IS NOT A MEMBER OF THE POLITICAL CLASS
#1 Reason to Trust a Retired Marine in 2014
CHICAGO, IL – Republican Attorney General candidate Paul Schimpf unveiled Reason #1 of the 14 Reasons to Trust a Retired Marine in 2014 on Chicago’s AM560 The Answer hosted by Former Congressman Joe Walsh.
The number one reason to trust Paul Schimpf is that he is not a member of the political class that is incapable of solving the problems our state faces.
Before Paul Schimpf entered this race, he served in the Navy and Marine Corps for 24 years.
As someone who was not recruited by party leadership, Paul Schimpf’s loyalty lies with the people of Illinois and the Illinois Constitution, not the political insiders.
This campaign is truly grassroots – largely financed by small donations from individuals eager to save Illinois from our political elites.
This stands in stark contrast to the current Attorney General, Lisa Madigan, who has held public office in Illinois for 16 years and whose war chest comprises primarily of big corporate and big union donations.
This election is a referendum on the political class that has come close to destroying our state. In order to turn our state around, we need a new generation of leaders.
With respect to the Attorney General’s Office,
- we need competence, not connections;
- leadership, not lineage;
- a prosecutor, not a career politician; and
- a Marine, not a Madigan.
