The Village of Bull Valley and the River East Public Library District are asking voter permission to bump their tax rates way up.
Look at the ballot question in Bull Valley first:
Bull Valley is asking for almost a 40% tax increase.
It is unclear whether the resulting tax rate, if passed, would become the base for all subsequent years.
That is not in question for the River East Public Library District. The new rate would be permanent.
That library district, located on the eastern McHenry County line in McHenry and Nunda Townships in the Lakemoor vicinity has the following question on the ballot:
