McHenry County Clerk Kathie Schultz reports that the approximately 5,000 absentee ballots still have not been completely counted.

There are an additional approximately 15,000 early votes to be added to the totals counted last night in the 212 precincts of the county.

Absentee ballots are usually counted during election day to be ready to be uploaded when the in-person vote counting has been completed.

After eleven years in office, Democratic Party Attorney General Lisa Madigan issued a ruling this year that absentee ballot counting could not begin until after 7 PM, when the polls closed.
