Newcomer to McHenry County politics, Chuck Wheeler, got his County Board campaign off to a great start with a $5,000 contribution from Sage founder Vince Foglia.
He followed that up with a McHenry fundraiser which, along with other contributions, brought in an additional $1,290. Another $450 in receipts smaller than $150 were also given.
There was also a $450 in-kind donation from Liberty Outdoor Advertising.
Identified on his end of September filing with the Illinois State Board of Elections was a $250 contribution from the Pro-Life Victory PAC.
$6,740 was what Wheeler had to work with through the end of September.
Wheeler ran second to GOP running mate John Hammerand. Both easily beat out former teacher union official Arne Waltmire, who ran on the Democratic Party ticket.
Wheeler was also elected Treasurer of the McHenry County Republican Central Committee last spring. He replace long-time Treasurer Fred Wickham.
