The final count is not in, but an estimated 850 people participated in the Crystal Lake Kiwanis Santa Run.
There were serious runners.
And those out for the exercise and challenge.
Five minutes later those participating in the shorter course were off.
This group included walkers and younger runners.
The fastest 5k runner was too fast for me.
I spent too much time inside warming up from theĀ 26 degree temperature.
He or she crossed the finish line in about 17 minutes.
Stalwarts were still coming in over sixty-five minutes after the race began.
Looks like a blast!
Good work done by good people creating a good time for the good of the community.
Over $100,000 has been raised during the first three years of the Santa Run to benefit local charities serving children.
