Santa Run Successful

The final count is not in, but an estimated 850 people participated in the Crystal Lake Kiwanis Santa Run.

The 5k runners were off about nine Sunday morning.

There were serious runners.

A steady stream of folks were in the run.  One waved to a family member as he went past.

And those out for the exercise and challenge.

Five minutes later those participating in the shorter course were off.

This group included walkers and younger runners.

Some were content to walk.  Others were sprinting.

The fastest 5k runner was too fast for me.

I spent too much time inside warming up from theĀ 26 degree temperature.

This wasn't the fastest 5k participants, but he was the first one crossing the finish line I caught with my camera.

He or she crossed the finish line in about 17 minutes.
