The Cottage in Crystal Lake was the site of the McHenry County Republican Party’s Christmas Party.

GOP Chairman Sandy Salgado was greeting people at the door, including Treasurer and County Board member Chuck Wheeler, who took Salgado’s seat in the 2014 election.

In her talk she pointed out that Republicans had won all seats on the County Board and that Bill Prim had been elected Sheriff.  Prim attended the event.

Usually, pizza is served for GOP events at The Cottage.

This time there were meatballs, salad, fruit, noodles, etc.

Not only did Salgado make a short speech, but so did Party Vice Chairman Andrew Gasser.

Gasser said that even the accomplishments this year were significant that they would be improved upon in future years.  He said he would be calling people starting January 3rd.

Among other elected officials attending were County Treasurer Glenda Miller, County Clerk Mary McClellan, Cary Mayor Mark Kownick, Algonquin Township Clerk Chuck Lutzow, Algonquin Township Trustee Larry Emery, Hebron Village Trustee Mark Shepherd, and Grafton Township Road Commissioner Tom Poznanski.

  2. Meatballs instead of pizza were a good choice this year for the new Regime.

    The room was about 90 degrees with all the people in there.

  4. From the looks of it the republican mafia doesn’t look like they will pass prohibition again.

    I wonder if our taxes are so high because they are drunk when they make these deals.

  5. Karma- it was a cash bar.

    The money to pay for it was not tax payer but money raised by our local Reps through fundraisers and donations.
