Hultgren Co-Sponsors Bill to Prohibit Immigration Funding

A press release from Congressman Randy Hultgren:

Hultgren Supports Bill Defunding President’s Executive Actions on Immigration

Washington, DC — U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren (IL-14) has cosponsored H.R. 29, the Separation of Powers Act, a bill which prohibits funding for the President’s executive actions on immigration which have upset the legal immigration process for those who have respected the rule of law.

“President Obama’s executive actions have demonstrated a complete disregard for the unintended consequences of encouraging children to rush our borders at the hands of human traffickers, and a gross overreach of constitutional authority—something the President repeatedly admitted his plan did.

“I cosponsored the Mulvaney amendment in December to defund the President’s actions.

“I urge the House and Senate to act on this similar and straight-forward legislation which defunds his actions and requires a legal determination by a judge—not the President—for any deferred action on deportations,” said Rep. Hultgren.

“The President must not reward and encourage unlawful entry at the expense of those who have patiently waited years in line to lawfully pursue the American Dream and citizenship. The American people sent us to Washington to take action and stop the President’s overreach—we must act now.

“I continue to believe that Congress should take the lead on immigration reform by securing our borders, improving the visa system, and addressing the many layers of our broken system. ‘My way or the highway’ edicts do nothing to advance reform. There are many in Congress who are willing to work with the President within each of our clearly defined, constitutional roles to find a long-term solution.”

H.R. 29, the Separation of Powers Act:

  • Prohibits any funds from being appropriated or otherwise made available to grant parole or deferred action to any alien other than for reasons permitted under current law; and
  • Prohibits any funds from being appropriated or otherwise made available to provide work permits or green cards to aliens who are currently unlawfully in the United States.

  1. …….especially in light of the very real threat of terrorism increasing every day!

With no representation in Paris from the USA it is clear the POTUS has no concern for the citizens of the United States, and would let anyone into the country – on top of too many examples over the past 6 years which has shown Obamas true colors – to fundamentally change the United States of America.

    God help us!
