No Seatbelt Crash Puts 22-Year Old in Hospital

Sheriff’s Office Investigates a One Vehicle Traffic Crash

A 22-year-old Union man was hospitalized in good condition Tuesday following his evacuation by helicopter from the scene of a one-vehicle crash one day earlier in the 9500 block of Stacy Lane in uninportated Coral Township.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo was traveling southbound on Stacy Lane at 9:49 a.m. Monday when for unknown reasons the vehicle exited the roadway to the west, where it struck two trees.

The driver of the Jeep, Trevor J. Alwin, 22, was transported by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center.

Alwin was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

An investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Investigations Unit.

Members of the McHenry County Conservation District Police, Marengo Rescue, Marengo Fire Protection District, and the Union Fire Protection District also assisted at the scene.
