Crystal Lake Resident Arrested for Multiple Drug Sales

Community complaints about an individual peddling cocaine at numerous bars and taverns in the Crystal Lake area was successfully concluded Friday with the arrest of a 42-year-old Crystal Lake man by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force.

Over a period of two months, Task Force members made undercover purchases from Jason L. Dunn, of the 400 block of Berkshire Drive, Crystal Lake. Dunn is known locally as “JD.”

The “buys” took place at

  • Brink Street Bar & Grill located at 85 Brink St.
  • William Street Tap located at 80 N. Williams St
  • Suds-R-Us located at 4616 Illinois Route 176 [in unincorporated Crystal Lake]

Assisting in the investigation were officers from Lake in the Hills Police Department, the Crystal Lake Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Assisting in the arrest was the United States Marshal Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The narcotics investigation was initiated after complaints were received from residents in the community.

During the course of the investigation, investigators learned that Jason was currently out on bond stemming from an arrest made by the Lake In the Hills Police Department on August 25, 2014.

Charges in the investigation were filed by both the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the Crystal Lake Police Department.

As a result of this investigation, Detective’s purchased approximately 3.0 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $600.

ARRESTED:

Jason L. Dunn (JD) (Male, 42), Crystal Lake, Illinois

  • 2 counts – Unl. delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a Park – Class X Felony
  • 2 counts – Unlawful delivery of a controlled substance – Class 1 Felony
  • Unlawful delivery of a controlled substance – Class 2 Felony
  • 3 counts – Unlawful possession of a controlled substance – Class 4 Felony
  • Violation of bail bond – Class A Misdemeanor

BOND: $200,000.00

NEXT COURT DATE: Awaiting Bond Court on Jan. 24.

    These three places should be shut down as management knew what he was doing in their bars.
