State Representative Mike Tryon Responds to Governor Bruce Rauner’s State of the State Address

SPRINGFIELD…..In response to Governor Bruce Rauner’s State of the State Address today, State Representative Mike Tryon (R-Crystal Lake) has issued the following statement:

“Today marked the first time during my tenure in the General Assembly that a governor presented an honest assessment of our state’s financial problems. Governor Rauner presented a bold plan for recovery and I look forward to hearing more specifics during his budget address in two weeks.

Mike Tryon is on the far right in the second row.

Mike Tryon is on the far right in the second row. To his left are Jeanne Ives and Reggi Phillips.  In the front row is center is Sheri Jesiel, then, Barb Wheeler and Pam Althoff.  In the third row, Tom Morrison is the one to the left.

“It is very refreshing to know we now have a Governor who intends to take a fiscally responsible approach toward the operation of state government.

“For far too long we’ve had no one in a top leadership position that has shown an interest in controlling spending. I stand ready to help the Governor with his financial reform agenda.

“For the last several years we have had governors who have refused to look beyond the here and now. Today’s State of the State Address showed very clearly that we now have a top chief executive who intends to take a strategic approach to solving the state’s problems.

“The Governor’s priorities are all geared toward fighting the biggest fight we have in Illinois: creating jobs and improving our economy.

“His broader themes of worker’s compensation reform and property tax relief for Illinoisans are also initiatives I have supported for many years.

“His blueprint for future success is something I fully support.”

  1. I’m the first to say it?

Too bad Tryin ( pun intended) didn’t take it upon himself to be a leader, to represent the his constituents, to try to lower our tax burden, to work across party lines.

He just hasn’t had the time
