Representative Steve Andersson Responds to Governor Rauner’s Budget Address

SPRINGFIELD…  In response to Governor Bruce Rauner’s 2015 Budget Address today, State Representative Steve Andersson has issued the following statement:

“The proposals included in the Governor’s speech today were difficult to hear, but they represent an honest assessment and plan of action for what needs to happen if we are to turn things around in Illinois.

“The budgetary challenges we face are immense, and it was good to see our Governor acknowledge them and address them,” said Andersson.

“While reducing spending in many areas, this budget blueprint preserves and increases spending in key government service areas like public safety and education, while also providing for our most vulnerable citizens.

“I look forward to working with Governor Rauner over the next several months to create a balanced budget that adheres to his goal of putting Illinois on a fiscally-responsible path.”
