Port Barrington Drug Overdose Death Arrest

Drug-Induced Homicide Arrest

On February 26, 2015, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force arrested Rolando Ramirez Aguilar of Wauconda, Illinois, for Drug-Induced Homicide.

Members of the

  • US Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force
  • Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group
  • the Wauconda Police Department and
  • the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office

served an arrest warrant and search warrant at Aguilar’s residence in the 300 block of E. Liberty Street, Wauconda, Illinois, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Aguilar’s arrest comes as a result of an investigation into the death of Michael Marudecki.

On February 11, 2015, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a 911 call at 738 Brighton Circle, Port Barrington, Illinois.

When deputies arrived on scene they discovered the body of Michael Marudecki on the basement floor.

The Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene, and deputies searched the residence and noticed evidence consistent with a drug overdose.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force, Lake County MEG, and the Wauconda Police Department conducted an investigation into Marudecki’s death and learned that he had recently received illegal narcotics from Aguilar.

The facts of the case were reviewed by the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, which approved the charge of Drug-Induced Homicide, a class X Felony.

BOND: $500,000.00
