A press release from Congressman Peter Roskam:

Roskam: Significant Gaps in Secretary Clinton’s Emails at Pivotal Times

WASHINGTON, DC–Last night, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06), a member of the Select Committee on Benghazi, appeared on FOX News’ On the Record with Greta Van Susteren to discuss former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s exclusive use of a personal email address and the Committee’s ongoing investigation.

“There are gaps [in Secretary Clinton’s emails] in terms of timing. Gaps as much as two months—other gaps of several weeks. So yes I can confirm that. And these are gaps at pivotal times when you would expect there to be a great deal of activity.”

“[W]hen it comes down to it, we’ve got to get these emails, and the emails are key to understand the truth about what happened in Benghazi. And there’s one person that stands between us—as the Benghazi Select Committee and the American people—and the truth about Benghazi as it relates to those emails. And that one person is the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.”

“Those documents are public documents in that they were created in the course of her work product. So the notion that they are somehow personal is an absurd claim. This is where that natural tension is. The State Department had been basically underselling for the past couple of months—creating a false impression with the Benghazi Select Committee that we’ve given you everything that we have, when in fact it turns out that only 300 emails were forthcoming from Secretary Clinton. And lo and behold she’s got them all.”

“There are gaps [in Secretary Clinton’s emails] in terms of timing. Gaps as much as two months—other gaps of several weeks. So yes I can confirm that. And these are gaps at pivotal times when you would expect there to be a great deal of activity. Remember, the Benghazi Select Committee is focused in on what happened on September 11th of 2012—what were the events that led up to it, and the events and how it was described afterwards. The focus is incredibly tight insofar as getting that information, and there’s very significant gaps when it’s an incredible thing to say there’s no communication.”

  1. If Clinton disobeyed the law she should be prosecuted but if the 49 GOP who sent a letter to Iran disobeyed the law they should also be prosecuted.

And Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, and any other candidates for the Presidency who were in official positions should have to reveal all of their emails also.

Florida was called for Gore in the 2000 election and then GWBush appeared on Fox with his brother Jeb and said my brother promised me Florida.

The state rights republicans then barged the office counting the hanging chad and the Supreme Court who should have stayed out of the vote put King George in office where he got us into the Iraq war and made our country go trillions of dollars in debt and lose precious lives.

Any war if it is worth fighting for should have a draft with the President’s grown up children enlisting first and also the congress’ children.

The constitution says we should not have a standing army but we have always been in war.

We need to disband the army and have the so called “militia” who love their guns protect our soil and stay out of other countries business.

If multinational businesses want protection they should hire Blackwater or pay our troops for defending their interests.

  2. Roskam continues to work for the people.

He is holding Hilary Clinton accountable, by issuing the subpoena, and he is evaluating this situation with clarity and accuracy.

Hilary Clinton working as President would be a complete joke. We the people, would be at her mercy for more “Obama like” shenanigans.

  3. Holder stonewalled the American public on “Fast & Furious”, why should we expect anything different from Hillary?
