District 155 Board Approves New Finance Leader

by Jeff Puma

The Community High School District 155 board of education approved the hire of Jeremy Davis as assistant superintendent of finance and operations and chief school business official, effective July 1, 2015.

Davis joins the district from O’Fallon Township High School District No. 203, where he has held the chief school business official position since 2009.

Prior to this role, he served Wheeling Community Consolidated School District No. 21 as director of business.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University, where he graduated Cum Laude, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

He began his career in education as an auditor for the Illinois State Board of Education.

He also holds a Type 75 administrative certificate and has served on the Illinois Association of School Business Officials Nominating Committee.

Davis previously worked in the private banking industry.

“Jeremy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from both the public and private financial sectors,” said the district’s superintendent, Dr. Johnnie Thomas. “His guidance will help District 155 continue its fiscal excellence into the future.”

  1. Heard Puma resigned effective immediately.

155 is losing a lot of their dead weight in administration.

Hoping some board members follow and Thomas too.

  2. I hear the morale in D 155 is at an all time low.

Teachers are very upset and are working to elect Blazier, Guss and Pelz, all of whom are close to the unions.
