As we were driving home from Culver’s on Route 14, I pointed out a police car near the VW car dealership.
As we were waiting to get through the Main Street, that police car, now with lights blazing, came speeding up behind us in the left hand lane, drove over the curb into where the center lane usually is and drove through Main Street and up Route 14.
We saw a police car with lights on at the car wash next to 5th Third Bank.
Another police car came out of the Pizza Hut parking lot headed across Route 14 for the bank parking lot.
Next a squad car came from next door at Amish Furniture into the western entrance for 5th Third.
As I was driving to Best Buy to buy a new wall phone (not many for sale) about an hour later, I saw both entrance and exit to the bank parking lot were blocked by Crystal Lake Police cars with lights on.
There was also a Sheriff’s car at the bank.
When I got to Best Buy, I saw two helicopters.
One seemed to be holding over the area where the bank is located.
My wife and I ate dinner at Colonial Cafe.
Driving home I saw not only the squad cars blocking the parking lot entrances, but a van marked “Police.”
This press release arrived about the time I got home:
