  1. There is zero information about the finances of the Marengo-Union Library district on the district’s website.

If we poked through the board minutes we see reference to a Monthly Financial Report that was approved.

Why is the Monthly Financial Report not posted on the district website?

Why is the Annual Financial Report not posted on the district website?

The next Marengo-Union Library district Board of Trustees meeting is Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 7:30PM, 19714 E Grant Highway, Marengo.

Next let’s visit the “Warehouse” section of the Illinois Comptroller website.

Type “Marengo” into the search box.

    One of the entries is:

    Marengo-Union – a Public Library District in Mchenry County – 063/028/10.

    Select Go.

You can poke around on that site but here’s some basic information.

    Next let’s look at salaries.

Compared to public school teachers, library employees are very low paid.

Being a library trustee allows one to learn about how municipal trustees can operate, and you can apply that knowledge to other taxing districts.

It’s a major challenge to get many kids struggling in school to read more than watching electronic media or playing video games.

The front and center item on the Marengo Union Library District website today is notification that video games are now available for checkout.

It’s ok for kids to have some fun, but a good rule of thumb is no screen time for the first two years of the child’s life.

And if the child is struggling in school, limit recreational screen time.

If the child is struggling in school, don’t let them check out more video games and movies than books.

Prior to all the electronic media at the library, one could go to the library, and come away assured the focus was books.

    That’s no longer the case.

  2. Maybe Marengo Mama is Kristin O!

It might be the pet store lady who scammed the state out of 13k in benefits in 1990?

She scammed numerous families out of money while pretending to sell her two babies both being girls the first baby I believe she got back the second I’m not sure if the California couple was able to keep her or not but she’s the one who is toxic in Marango and people might not believe it trust me she’s scamming people left and right to this day.

    Leopard don’t change their spots.

  3. Well this wins as the most confusing posts I have seen in a long while how does an item from 7 years ago appear here? Come on Cal….

  4. Because that nitwit Say+no made a comment on it. Now you can see it appear again because you and I clicked on the latest comments. 🙄
