The political grapevine was alive this past weekend with the word that State Representative Mike Tryon was retiring.
Crowd at the Algonquin Township pizza party.
That certainly was the juiciest rumor at Saturday night’s Galati’s Hideaway pizza party hosted by the Algonquin Township Republican Central Committee.
Going to the source seemed like a good idea.
Here’s what Tryon told me:

“I’m running for State Rep.”
Tryon told me from the House floor on Monday.
“That’s where I am today.”These are just rumors.
“There’s never been anything.
“I’m not sure who’s the driving force.”
He did say that he was not ruling out running for McHenry County Board Chairman.
“I’m like everybody else.
“I look at all the opportunities.”
Tryon was first elected to the Illinois General Assembly in 2014, replacing Rosemary Kurtz. He had no primary opponent in his then-McHenry County district.
He was appointed to fill out my father’s term on the McHenry County Board when my father died in 1989.
Tryon served as Board Chairman from 1996 through 2004.
He has previous governmental service working for the County Health Department.
And he represents no one.
He needs to go.
Mike Tryon is soon one of the few remaining sane and inclusive Republicans in McHenry County , as the party has been taken over by ideologues who want to exclude rather than include members into the party who may not agree with the current party’s less tolerant agenda.
Also, I would not hesitate to vote for him should he decide to run for McHenry County Board Chairman.

Mike, Jack, Dave, Pam, and every other state rep from this area needs to stop worrying about small side issues, get our state budget balanced, and pension funds under control.

10.9% voter turn out shows how great these New “Reformers” are doing and thus encourage new voters into the Republican party.
These “Reformers” may have got 6,500 fewer voters to vote than before.
If they are so bad, you are welcome to vote against them.
But somehow I don’t think the victory in the US Senate, retaining the House, the election of Governor Rauner, the frustration with the way Springfield “functions”, and the pickups on the County Board corroborate your story.

One of the members of our social gathering had a conversation with Keith Nygren about Gary Pack.

By the way, that chain of events and that particular conversation was relayed to an FBI agent.
He just about died laughing, on the other end of the phone, when he heard, what was said to Nygren.
The best part of the conversation, between Nygren and the other party, was the fact that the person having this conversation looked right at Keith Nygren while they stated they didn’t like Pack, because they believe he is corrupt.
Apparently, Nygren was wearing his sheeps clothing that day or they just have really bad intuition about people…lol…
Little, did I know that some FBI agents were eating popcorn too…lol…
Apparently, Nygren, liked to share his popcorn at times.
