From Mickey Schuch, President of McHenry County Right to Carry Association:

McHenry County Right to Carry logoWe are very proud to be bringing some top quality training to our membership.

June 28th we will be hosting an emergency medical class for firearms instructors.

This class is not limited to instructors only.

These skills are valuable for anyone that considers personal safety a lifestyle, they are not limited in usefulness to firearm related injuries.

All manner of accident or injury can enter our life anytime.

Victory goes to the prepared.

Our friends at Spartan Tactical Training Group have developed this course and it is taught around the country to law enforcement officers, defense contractors and firearms instructors.

This course is registered with several agencies and counts towards Continuing Education credits for certain individuals. NRA instructor this is 8 Hours for you.

The lead instructor, Brian Bardsley, is the real deal.

Brian is a police officer with the Chicago Police Department and has over 11 years of experience in law enforcement. He has served as a patrol officer in the 15th district and is the recipient of the Cook County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Award of Valor for his actions in the line of duty.
Brian currently serves on staff with the Chicago Police Department’s SWAT Team as a full-time TEMS instructor.
Brian has also served as a tactical instructor with the Chicago Police Department’s Tactical Training Unit where he has presented numerous classes on basic search warrant service, room clearing techniques and ballistic shield use.

Brian has been a paramedic for over 12 years and has served as a paramedic and firefighter / paramedic with several municipal fire departments including the Chicago Fire Department and Stone Park Fire Department.

His extensive background as a pre-hospital healthcare provider also includes service as a combat medic during a 1 year tour in Iraq with the U.S. Army Reserves as a Medical Specialist.

Brian received the Bronze Star Medal and Combat Medical Badge for his combat service in Iraq and is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Brian is an affiliate faculty member at the Loyola University Medical Center Program for Pre-hospital Medicine where he presents curriculum for Emergency Medical Technicians and specialty classes on advanced cardiac life support, basic trauma life support, critical care EMT, pediatric advanced life support and pre-hospital trauma life support.

This type of training, at this level, is not your local CPR class. We are fortunate to have this opportunity. Class space is limited so sign up early.

Also high quality military grade IFAK (individual first aid kits) will be made available for purchase at time of sign up. They contain:

  • CAT Tourniquet
  • 4″ Israeli Battle Dressing (IBD)
  • Nasopharyngeal Airway (28F)
  • H&H compressed wound packing gauze
  • 2″ roll of heavy duty medical tape
  • Re-sealable ITW X-Proof combat bag

Course duration: 1 day (8 hours)

Course tuition: $ 135.00 (Course only) or $ 195.00 with student issued Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) included.

It’s been said a million times that victory goes to the bold, that’s a simple minded statement in my opinion. Many a bold combatant won the fight only to bleed out prior to help arriving. Not much of a victory if you or yours expires 5 minutes after you’ve won, which is why I say victory goes to the prepared!

A link is at the bottom for sign up info.

Respectfully,

Mickey Schuch
