When I heard the helicopter flying over my Lakewood bedroom about 6 AM, I knew it was gypsy moth spraying time.
At first I thought I’d try to go back to sleep, but the pilot was doing a quite thorough job.
Back and forth across the Country Club Additions Subdivision.
Up and down on a path parallel to Lake Avenue.
Then back and forth along and between the Gates.
I finally thought that since I was awake I might as well try to get a picture, as I have in prior years of this fight against the insect defoliator.
Here it is going along South Shore Drive.
