Some local lawyers undoubtedly would like to become judges.

There are two types of elections.

One it countrywide.

That is the type of election that anyone wanting to succeed Circuit Court Judge Gordon Graham will have to run.

There are also subcircuit judgeships.

Created by State Rep. Jack Franks, they are phasing them in at this point.

Look at the map.  District 1 is ready made for Franks, should he want to maximize his retirement.

My colorblindness does not allow me to differentiate between Districts 3 and 4, but maybe you can see it.

I’m told the following is the color scheme:

  • 1 is green
  • 2 is purple
  • 3 is pale green
  • 4 is orange

District 3 is basically Cary, Fox River Grove and Algonquin.

District 4 is in Algonquin west of Route 31, Lake in the Hills, Algonquin Township in Crystal Lake west along that and Grafton Townships’ lines to Route 47. Its legal description follows:

Beginning at the intersection of McHenry / Kane County line and Illinois Route 31,
