Phyllis Walters ended up with the Rakow Road red ribbon wrapped around her neck.

At its dedication, Phyllis Walters ended up with the Jim Rakow Road red ribbon wrapped around her neck. Rakow, former McHenry County Highway Commissioner, was her husband.

McHenry County Recorder Phyllis Walters is the third person with a Political Action Committee located in Algonquin.

Although Walters is not running for re-election, she still had $6,976.26 available at the end of March.

Walters only expenditures were an unidentified $100 to a candidate and $209.95 for flowers for a regional meeting of county clerks and recorders.

Walters is promoting former Nunda Township Trustee Joni Smith as her replacement.  Smith ran first when she won her Trustee race.

Former McHenry County Board Chairwoman Tina Hill has announced she is running for the office.

  1. Can the County withstand another spouse of an Operating Engineer union member?

  2. I would expect if Joni gets elected the dept will see no change, I can’t say that for Tina for sure.

    Is there already a union spouse problem there, spell it out for us all to see.

  3. didn’t Tina get charged with DUI?

    Did Tina finish the term of county board chairman or chairwoman ?
